this weeks redneck post

All these post about pulling money out of the banks, I don't know who is right. I can tell you all this. I am in a very small town that only has 4 stores and a small branch bank. Last week a coworker went into the bank to cash a $900 check and the teller told him that they didn't have enough cash on hand to cash the check.

Now I don't know if this small bank only gets a limited amount of cash to opperate on daily or what. It really got my attention though. I did withdraw some cash from the atm over the weekend just in case of an emergency.

I also see a lot of comments about taking all your money out and buying gold and silver. I understand the theory of it being currency in a collapse. But I have to ask myself if TSHTF and all the stores are empty, or I have no way to get to a store, what good is that metal?

I mean if I have food and water to take care of my family on hand, and nowhere to buy more supplies, why would I sell you a sandwich for 1000$ worth of gold? Where am I gonna use it? I sure can't eat it, or plant it and grow more. And if everyone is in the same boat I am who in there right mind is gonna want to sell anything they have thats important to their livelyhood like food, water, clothes, anything needed to survive?

I figure the metals are like money, You can't take it with You when You go,,, and if metals are all you have to survive on,,, You gonna be going pretty quick.
