8-10 Police Just Showed Up in Front of My House with AR-15s drawn...

I thought it was a raid.....by the way they all had semi-autos drawn, and they were gathered around my house, you would think I or my next door neighbor were crack dealers or something.


Why didn't they attempt to save him?


No one did anything for about 45 minutes. Until someone (i guess a family member ) went inside and found him..

If guns are so evil, then why does the government have so many guns?

who called them there? Why were they knocking on your door? was he negotiating with them or something? You say they didn't do anything..what were they doing for 45 mins? I had a situation recently where I tried to call the cops to get my boyfriend help...but they told me to leave, and he killed himself. When I went to police department later they said they couldn't send ambulances there without clearing the scene first and since he denied help that was that. It's really sad............

Something similar happened right outside my apartment last year. I drove through the complex and there must have been 10 cop cars, an ambulance, and a fire truck. I was thinking, great there was a fire. Then I noticed them right outside my door!!! 8 cops at least. I asked them if everything was alright and they were just looking for someone who lived across from me.

Do they really need to swarm like this? To harass and intimidate I suppose.

Typical of the police today, what a bunch of cowards. They'd just as soon help people commit suicide, rather than put themselves in any danger.

I was outside trying to comfort the neighbors, thanks for the replies guys. I knew him and worse of all, he has 2 lovely children who play with my child.


Apparently he picked them up from school today, dropped them off at their moms, ....

Im still stunned I had 5-6 AR-15s drawn in front of my house.


Why wouldnt they just tell me my neighbor was suicidal? Or they got a call about that? I could have helped them out and potentially saved a life.....

I WILL post the videos of the police cars lined up, I don't want any of my neighbors posted without their consent, and I'm sure as HELL not going to ask about that right now.

The important thing is, I just found out he actually shot himself right when the extended family went inside apparently.

The home owner told him not to go in.....

glad I took some video because my neighbor might need this....perhaps if the guys dad went in first, he could have gotten him to put the gun down

I've had a lot of unfortunate things happen in my neighborhood over the years. Less than a year ago, one of my neighbors got shot in the head, robbery. About 6-7 years back, I watched a neighbor get raided for selling drugs (he was a small time pot dealer, they found an oz. of pot and thats all, go figure)



These cops had their AR-15s DRAWN. Why on earth did they have thier AR-15s in their HANDS, DRAWN, in front of my house, because of a suicide call? it makes NO sense.


It started with those cops w/ their AR-15s, and when they asked if I knew if **** lived next door, I was honestly just in shock looking at all these police with their semi-autos right in front of my house.


I didn't say anything because for all I knew, someone got in a fight, and I wasnt about to get anyone killed.


They all LAUGHED, and said guess we got the wrong house. They were JOKING THE WHOLE TIME. They got in their cars and left.


Then apparently extended family showed up. The cops were there for about 15 minutes and then left. THe extended family sat outside of the house for about 25 minutes and didnt do anything.


I heard one woman (extended family) say the door was open, she went in , ran out saying HES DEAD< HES DEAD.


Within 5 minutes all the cops came back, with their AR-15s drawn, and flew into that house like it was a raid. I had NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON.

By this time, my whole neighborhood was watching. This is when another 4-5 cop cars pulled out, and more mayhem.






Sorry, I feel kind of stupid for making a thread this personal now, but its the AR-15 thing that really got me.




Can anyone please just tell me why they had them drawn? Is this standard procedure for a suicide call?

sad when people leave kids like that, sorry for you and your neighborhood.

I guess the police had been told the man had a gun and was threatening to use it. Then when they got to the house there was no action, no activity, so they knocked on your door to see if they had the right house. When a person is in a home with a gun, the police will respond and treat it like a standoff and block traffic for blocks while they negotiate. Since the man inside didn't do anything they wondered if they had the wrong house. They were ready but nothing was happening, so they left. Then came back when something finally did happen. That's how I interpret it.

I understand now :(

I don't think you should feel dumb, that whole thing sucks. Sorry you had to go through it, and worse, sorry for the victims family. Prayers go out, for you and them.

Wow, I wonder if he had been on medication. I can't imagine anyone condemning their children to such a legacy. Do you know if he was out of work, or having custody issues, or what?

Hope you can let go of this in time, OP. Try and be there for those kids of his, they will be lost on such a deep level, what a pity. See to it that their mom gets them counseling, they should have professional help right away. If she can't afford it, there are many churches that have good counselors who would be able to help with crisis counseling and grief counseling.

OP those cops were the backup team. And you didn't hear a gunshot because the (death squad) shooter used a silenced pistol, standard MO.

The problem is not police, it is the POLICY that is captured by various political outlets (most likely, congressional/senate). The policy by the elite and passed down through the ranks and the policy becomes a belief system. Everyone contributes to the system we live in; we propagate it by passive aggressive acts as much by direct acts.
