Re: Make no mistake; Today, the world changes forever
A discussion on how today the world as we know it changes forever.

Specifically looking to the tensions over NK, which also tags through extension Russia/ China/ Iran/ Pakistan, but we also must take into account the on-going tensions with US/ Israel and Iran/ Syria, which also tags Russia/ China/ Pakistan, as well as underlying tensions between India/ Pakistan, which tags in US/GB/NATO/Russia/ Iran/ NK/ China.

**IF** Nk does not follow through with their "test", they will now appear weak - especially after their statements of the past few weeks, along with their building of support within their people under the guise of imminent war. While this would leave them appearing as weak and a continuation of Kim the senior's policy of empty talk and threats, the international pressure and ridicule would likely be the egg-in-the-face to push Kim Yong Un into more volatile actions with little thought and/ or consideration. These actions, in the form of military movements and attacks could entail actions on/ against SK, Japan, and US interests.

**IF** NK DOES fire their "test", especially if any "test" vehicle take a path projected to be within range of or even over Japan - it will assuredly be shot down. The shooting down of NK's "test" would be a mark as well against NK, not only destroying their property, negating any "test" and "results" thereof, but also a statement that they are not beyond international reach or free to take on open activities as they wish. This, as well, provides egg-in-the-face to NK, specifically to Yong Un, that would lead down the same path as above - volatile, "retaliatory" actions that are devised with no other objective than spreading death and destruction, though this scenario would more likely carry the support of their allies as the shooting down of their "test" will be construed not as a protective measure, but an offensive one towards the sovereign nation of NK.

During the following days, Iran/ Syria will also be provided the perfect opportunity to ramp up their own stances against the West, using the NK situation as a distraction to their favor.

Either way, and whatever happens; the world as we know it changes today - even if it were to culminate in a new Cold War that leaves the last looking like a child's game. The next 24 hours holds the one solid fact that Kim Yong Un will be left with egg-on-the-face; there's just no way around that right now, and it's no secret that fat kids don't like being made fun of.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19279378

Thanks, but I can't say that I've ever put faith in the MSM, and don't even watch local or national "news" now, as these shows have become nothing short of a mix of reality shows and soap operas. I do agree with you that they are more entertainment (and that is a stretch).

The content of my post revolves around the changes that will follow suit AFTER today, regardless of which direction NK chooses to take.

I posted the picture that an AC above tried to link to earlier.

Pool's thread about this has discussion in which some seem to think this could be a subliminal heads up to a coming event for The Capitol, Pentagon, and White House.

I'm not so sure about how much weight I would put into that, but the picture is up, nonetheless.

To my knowledge, there has been no definite time line given, only that they (NK) propose the launch on the 10th.

Daylight in NK will run from about an hour and a half from now, through this evening EST, but there's not requirement that they must act only during daylight hours.

Re: Make no mistake; Today, the world changes forever
This North Korea situation will signal the players in the NEW "Cold War". IT will end the U.S as tne single decision maker, it will show that Russia, China, N.Korea and Iran along with Assad's Syria are one bloc, united together.

On the other hand, the U.S and U.K will remain the two powers, but nations like Germany and the EU may choose to remain neutral although the U.S will ask them not to do so.

As for the struggle, well its gonna be the Middle East, Syria right now is the battleground, no matter what you hear on MSM or otherwise, Syria is a stalemate.

But if Syria falls, the Russian bloc suffers greatly as Hizbollah is disconnected and Iraq is vulnerable from the Al Qaeda and Sunni Takfeeri groups who will form bases in Syria.

It is about who is gonna blink first and make concessions. However from what I see on CNN Obama seems to be more worried about gay marriage and embroiling himself in a gun issue. Obama is weak and I predict he will cave in first. Even if Assad is about to fall, the Iraqi Shia and Hizballah will intervene directly. This aint no game to us Shia, we are fighting in Syria till the death.
 Quoting: GuidedOne

I don't see Obama caving in,I see him doing exactly what he's wants to do,nothing.

N MY HUMBLE OPINON The next 48-72 hours could be the most dangerous in our history. We have a mad man posed to launch WW3. The US did back down a bit yesterday , lets hope NK will do the same. We know they will be testing a long range missile towards Japan,Japan will try to take it out.

We have NK east of us, Iran in the ME and Cuba at our south last year Russia put five nukes there.

History will tell how our leaders handle this. And let us get this close again.

I believe leaders of our time are very few in public office.

The rest of the ruling class are just celebrities seeking the next election. Sad state.

If this situation is handled well, it's from the men in the field, not the ones in elected office.

That's half of my point here - even if nothing overt happens, it leaves NK in a precarious position of being mocked and Yong Un loosing his perceived level of international power as viewed by his people.

South Korea has lunched test missles over Japan before and they were not shot down. Nothing happened after their nuke tests either. What is different this time besides our reaction?
 Quoting: Resister

During the prior tests, even the nuclear tests, NK had not taken an over stated position of "War Footing" against SK or the US, they had not moved additional military and related hardware as seen in the past weeks, they had not warned visitors to leave SK, other countries had not seen the need to evacuate their people from NK/ SK, nor had Kaesong been completely shut down or the guards exchanged for military.

They've taken their steps to ramp this up intentionally.
