(OP) User ID: 38659738 Canada 04/22/2013 02:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No water??? WTF!? Quoting: gurunade I'd roll with you as I still have an hour till the cut-off time. Is not drinking water actually part of fasting? That's lame. booo hiss. I drink a lot of water, man! WTF you talking about? You can have as much water as you want, same with coffee, tea etc. ( no milk or sweetener though ) I only mention 'no water' in the advanced stages ( when you have more experience fasting ) to make the fast more aggressive but only for a maximum of 24 hours. Anonymous Coward User ID: 38560871 United States 04/22/2013 03:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Who's with you? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33130922 VERY, VERY DEW. Hardly anyone can afford to. With 46,000,000 Americans on food stamps, most people have to fast at least 2 or 3 times a week because they haven't any money. Fasting JUST ONCE A WEEK is a luxury VERY, VERY FEW in the USA can afford. Shit, the ones on foodstamps in the US eat better than the middle class. |

Starting off I recommend a keeping stuff like coffee in the diet if you are used to it. Otherwise it may be too shocking for some people. If you are brave and think you can handle it GO FOR IT! |

From what I understand, when you fast your body goes "Oh shit! I'm fasting. Food must be scarce. I don't know when I'll get food next so I need to store as much of the calories I take in as fat. Need to stock up!" So if you do it seldom and don't deprive yourself to the point where you start wasting away, it might have the opposite effect and actually cause your body to build fat instead of shed it. That's my understanding anyway, no first hand/second hand experiences though. Last Edited by KonspiracyKitty on 04/22/2013 03:44 AM |

User ID: 38615395 United States 04/22/2013 03:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Going to start fasting once a week again. Thought it would be interesting to do with a group to hold each other accountable. Post updates about weight loss and or other experiences while on the fast. Body sensations, sense of smell etc. Quoting: protoculture I've fasted a few years ago : See my thread... Thread: Lose Weight By Fasting Once a Week ... for anyone who is interested in my system. I attempted to make the fasting process as easy as possible. I usually do it Mondays. Don't know why that's just been a good date/time for me. Fasting is done for many reasons. Personally, it can cleanse the body or you can do it spiritually to let the Father know you realize the error of your ways. I was told not to fast spiritually and instead to bow my head like a bullrush and be good very very good and repent in my bedroom to the father with my head bowed and call that a fast. But I understand the many reasons why you would want to fast and normally I would do this, but now is not the time for me. May it bring you well though...I will fast on the feast in september day of atonement for sins. |
