I lived for several years literally on top of a fault line. Anything below a 5 we greet with a yawn. Last Edited by T_C on 04/16/2013 03:11 AM Take your dogma and shove it! Life is not about what happens to you, it's about how you deal with it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27634792 United States 04/16/2013 03:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's because of the fracking. It's causing earthquakes, sinkholes and poisoning your water supply. You need to get a protest together, soon. Quoting: Talamasca I used to think that, but then I decided it was all a conspiracy by the Progressives to stop extracting our own natural gas and devastate our economy. Now I think it's just as much BS as "climate change aka global warming." |

Yeah, you hear about that one in Canada that was only around a five yet it was felt across many states? Not always a "yawn". Always depends on the depth. I guess NZ has plenty of idiots, also. |

Quoting: Talamasca You can pin a finger on what the cause was unless you are at the point of origin in an omniscient point of reference. Even a seismograph can only measure the magnitude of the wave of energy, regardless if it was an "earthquake" or not... no disrespect, to each his/her own |

(OP) User ID: 24568365 United States 04/16/2013 03:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not showing up on USGS yet. I filled out the 'did you feel it' questionairre at their site. Like another poster said, this one had the concussive wave that goes right through you. And the rolling chug-chug-chug like a freight train. EQs in OK "feel" different than EQs in CA, because we are in the middle of a crustal plate. Ours have a sharp concussive feel. This EQ lasted at least 20-30 seconds, and it was full of torque, the way the waves and the sound went. Scary! I Support Our First Responders |
