Anonymous Coward User ID: 34256980 United States 04/16/2013 03:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, I felt it. I'm noticing how solid the quake jerks are in Oklahoma. We rolled with the sway of them on the West Coast. I'm in a 2 story house & it sure jolted hard & long, tonight. More damage to the house, on top of past quake damage here in Midwest City. Never had this kind of damage homewise on the West Coast: "wow," who'd have thought? "God bless Oklahoma," huh. |

Am east of Arcadia and it felt to move north to south here, as well as a friend north of Waterloo on Midwest said it felt north to south as well. About 20-30 seconds, started, built, subsided and peaked again. Heard the rumbling to the south of me for about 30-40 seconds after. We are all at different angles from the epicenter. Quoting: Frost_ I lived for several years literally on top of a fault line. Anything below a 5 we greet with a yawn. The problem here is that we have few/small fault lines that are relatively inactive. This is a new (2 yrs) issue for Oklahoma and it is very unsettling. Don't listen to that other Kiwi blow hard!! A 4.9 at 5km's deep is a scary event in any book. I hope they ease of for you all, they're not fun.......trust me, we've had over 14000 in the last 2.5 years, and I still hate them!! |

Quoting: Frost_ I use to live literally on top of a fault line. Anything below a 5 is greeted with a yawn. Yeah, you hear about that one in Canada that was only around a five yet it was felt across many states? Not always a "yawn". Always depends on the depth. I guess NZ has plenty of idiots, also. LOL yup all kinds of stupid here m8. NZ IS one big-ass faultline or it wouldn't BE at all! 44 years here feelin nuthin, then 63 shakes above Mag 5 in the last 2.. go figure? But i will say this, there's a helluvalot more to describing a quake than magnitude alone can tell ya. Have felt plenty 4's that shook bad as a 5 easy, and seldom 2 the same. Sometimes a slow roll, or jagged shake, or heavy swinging, or intense vibration, or like a boulder avalanche underfoot, or just a sound like an underground nuke test, or some combination of the lot etc etc.. but always a big surprise and bit of a fright. |

Oklahoma has been under severe drought for a couple of years, with lots of chemtrailing. It is probably part of the test area of the drought-creating geo-engineering/weather modification experiment, and now they are working on how to reverse the drought. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2646819 Around here, lots of people will believe anything. Right now we simply have several events -- some natural, some manmade. Earthquake = Natural event, perhaps influenced longterm by human intervention by way of fracking. Boston bombings = Man's inhumanity to man Sinkhole = "Natural" event that is manmade in origin No, I do not believe they are connected in any way except to say that humankind is a shortsighted creature. Ain't THAT the truth, and the crux of all of our problems. We generally lack the ability to see farther into the future than the noses on our faces. We all live in the moment, as much as we like to say otherwise. We know tomorrow isn't a guarantee so we take risks that we wouldn't take otherwise. And, in general, we're pretty selfish - we only worry about that which impacts us directly... |
