BREAKING NOW - BOMB SQUAD outside of OSU, Columbus OH

There are no up-to-date reports on this.. no idea if the situation is still active, or if the "all clear" has been given. Local news station WSYX only just reported this about 15 minutes ago, so they're not really jumping on this story.

Hopefully it ends up just being a bag of clothes or something!

there is no shame in hoping a fraternity house gets blown up.

An officer on scene said the suspicious package was detonated .... Real mature response though ...

These type of incidents are going to pile and pile up.

Watch how people wont go out to spend their monies, ghost town effect for weeks.

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: The suspicious package found outside the Ohio Union at OSU has been detonated. It's still not known what it was. We're working to gather additional information, and we'll bring it to you tonight on ABC 6 News at 11:00.


According to poster on their FB page, the students were not notified of any suspicious activity, nor asked to stay away from the area.

Not really.. did you click on any links? Have you personally looked at ANY Columbus news websites for breaking info?

so there going to blow up every "suspicious" bag in the country now? When my laptop and Iphone get blown to bits because it was a suspicious looking bag,im gonna be PISSED

I can only cross my fingers and hope that it was just somebody's overactive imagination- and it turns out to be nothing. If they really didn't notify students on campus, I guess they didn't take it too seriously. Some would argue maybe they shouldn't, but on the other hand, with Boston, and then the Ricin thing today, we don't know what is coming next.

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: OSU spokesperson says the student union is back to normal operations after the Columbus Bomb Squad investigated what turned out to be a suspicious backpack left outside the building. That OSU spokesperson says there weren't any explosives inside the backpack. We'll have video from all of this activity coming up tonight on ABC 6 News at 11:00
