Just read another thread updating Jeff's situation and that he's now in hospice. Continued prayers for him and family to get through this difficult time.

Hey gem. He's been in hospice for a couple of days now. They've got him pretty sedated, it sounds like.

Here's wishing a sense of the "greater" wellbeing and mindfulness in the moment during this time of life for all involved.

Because that is what it truly is, a very rich time in the whole cycle of life.

I just got off the phone with Jeff's wife, Reta. Jeff is still with us, and is resting comfortably. I told her how much love we all have for Jeff here on GLP. I told her how we are all praying for Jeff, and for Jeff's family.
Jeff is not exactly conscious. He is in a deep slumber from the pain meds. Reta said if you shout in his ear, he will stir. He is still fighting, and is not ready to leave here, just yet.
We need to send up more prayers for Jeff, that his passing is peaceful and pain free. We need to pray for his family, that they find the strength to make it through all of this. Reta is a remarkable woman, stronger than steel. I believe her deep love for Jeff is a reason we have been able to have Jeff around this long after the cancer hit him. Love conquers all things, gives strength to the weak, and hope to the hopeless.
God's love for us, is the ultimate love of all. God's love will carry Jeff home to heaven, soon.

having to tell her kids must have been the hardest thing she has ever done in her life. i hope i don't have to do that.

Prayers for Jeff and his family. Very saddened to hear this news. But grateful for knowing it.

My kids have gone through this. My my late exhusband, the father of my kids, died of non-hodgkins lymphoma.My oldest was an adult when he passed away, and the other two were 17 and 12.

the only thing worse than that as a parent is losing a child i suppose.

I have been through that too, a stillborn daughter.:(

FYI, Jeff's wife Reta has been logging on over here on Jeff's account, and checking his messages and such.

Reta, I was hoping to get over your way this last week, but the ice storm had other ideas. My daughter lives in Mansfield and we had planned to go to the Christmas Market in Arlington again this year. I'm sorry I can't get there. If there is anything I CAN do from here, just send me a pm on here.

My son was 13 when his father passed away with cancer.One of the hardest things I will ever go through was watching my husband waste away a little more each day but it was even harder watching my son hurt so badly. I havent posted anything on the thread until now.I just dont know what to say that will help.Its been on my mind daily and I hurt so deeply for this family.
