A documentary that has gone viral in two days has a suggestion –– it’s one that criminals use to erase your memory and renders you incapable of exercising your free will. The drug, called scopolamine, also known as ‘The Devil’s Breath,' is derived from a particular type of tree common in Colombia called the Borrachero tree. The word "borrachero," which roughly translates to "get-you-drunk," grows wild in Bogota,Colombia. Read more: [link to digitaljournal.com] |

The idea of slipping a little into someone's drink and them becoming a zombie following your every instruction is a grossly simplified example of what would happen. Most people given the drug, even in very small amounts, end up in emergency rooms where they come close to dying. Any drug used as a truth serum has the inherent flaw where people will tell you what they think you want to hear. This is why torture is not all that great at getting information out of a person either. |

Dries out your mouth, mild dissociative. As drying as it is I am amazed anyone can talk once its at levels high enough to make you want to. At low doses, for buzz factor, think Sudafed and beer. Motion sickness version: [link to www.transdermscop.com] Important Safety Information A prescription is needed. Not for children under 18 years old or people who have or have had glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyeball), have difficulty urinating, or an allergy to the active ingredient, scopolamine or other belladonna alkaloids. Most common side effects are dry mouth, drowsiness and blurred vision. When using this product, do not use alcohol, drive, operate dangerous machinery, or do things requiring alertness. If you are elderly, your physician should exercise care in prescribing the Transderm Scōp® patch. |

It is a pandemic here. I have friends that have been scoped, and they took them to cash machines and pulled money out for the thieves. I am NOT kidding. It works similar to atropine, homatropine, and hyoscyamine. It essentially disrupts the connection between the body and the brain via the sympathetic nervous system. So basically you end up all head or all body. More powerful effect than that of amanita muscaria shrooms. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 36941348 United States 04/20/2013 02:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Many years ago I had a minor surgery, and back then they often used scopolamine as an anesthesia. They used it on me, and when I woke up I felt like I was having nightmares and I was yelling and screaming on the gurney and when I woke up all the way, I thought WTF? The nurses told me that sometimes people have strange reactions to it that way. Just from my experience, I don't see how it could be used as a truth serum because it puts you in another world where nothing makes sense. |

Oral therapy is initiated at a starting dose of 0.4 mg every 8 hours as needed, whereas parenteral dosage forms are initiated at a starting dose of 0.4 mg every 4 hours as needed.3, 15, 17, 23 Scopolamine is also available as a transdermal patch, which is applied behind the ear and changed every 72 hours.9 There is limited evidence to support the application of more than one patch. One case report and one study showed that two patches were tolerated,24, 25 but the use of three patches is based solely upon anecdotal reports.14, 15 Because the patch may take up to 12 hours for effect, there are limited benefits for actively dying patients.9, 14 [link to www.google.com] |
