The 'fake injury' story doesn't wash. Let's face it, if you use actors in this kind of situation then you leave lots of 'loose ends', if you're gonna do something like this, why not do it or real and create real fear, fear that not only effects the proper watching, but also the people who were there. Plus it would e a hell of a lot cheaper. We are not children of celestial fuckin' light, walkin' arm-in-arm into the Age of Aquarius. We are wankers who wreck the planet an' piss on each other, 'til half the world's starvin' an' the other half's busy findin' new ways to keep from noticin' it.
