Wow never heard that

It's been quiet since the skyking message.

What the hell is that? Anyone else hearing the message to Puerto Rico right now?

The disturbing fact is that Skyking messages are NOT common, there have been so many lately.

Is that right, Inqisador? I've only started listening recently.... so I have no idea. Today has been very busy for the AFB's. Is that normal?

Good grief, it's slow on the doom front tonight! I'm bored outta my gourd! C'mon, surely there is something brewing somewhere?! Sure is, this is a both primary and back up method of communication of the services involved. The mix includes modern Ultra tech and old fashioned low tech.

Andrews just did another "Skyking Skyking Do not answer" message.

Overall a 3/10 on my disturbing meter. Just wait

The first three letters like Hotel Foxtrot Romeo are a flight identifier.

SKYKING messages are special EAM's. These presumably could be the nuclear go/no-go codes. There was a higher than normal number of EAM's and SKYKING messages being transmitted after the attackes of 9/11/01. Urgent SKYKING messages are repeated three or four times instead of the usual two. SKYKING is a group callsign, meaning "Any this net." "Do not answer" is the standard procedure ofr self-authenticating broadcasts, meaning that recipients don't need to give away their positions or existence by challenging the orders. While tuned to any of the HFGCS frequncies and hear "SKYKING SKYKING Do not answer" you can bet you're hearing a very important, highest priority, and heavily encrypted message!

What is the best station to listen to there? I tried 8992.00 a few times and only once heard anything.

I've had some luck with the following:

14589.80
9679.21
11175.00

But static is all you will really hear, until they broadcast a message.

Fortunately we live in a time in which we have the ability to share information amongst each other.

And... I hope that we don't hear these SKYKING messages more frequently than we are now haha. That said, if I begin hearing 'whiskey tango foxtrot!' Or 'romeo Oscar foxtrot Lima' I wouldn't be too concerned :)
