Dancing with the Stars to have Boston Bombing Victim on the show? WTF?!

This doesnt seem weird to anyone else.

I guess it would be a "ratings boost" to most?

Sure, the show is taking advantage of the tragedy to benefit ratings.

But, I think it will also help her - if you've seen interviews, you know she is a positive person and having this opportunity will motivate her to work hard in order to return to dancing - her profession.

So, it's a win-win for ABC and for the victim.

She's not competing on the show.

They went to her rehab center and filmed a piece on her that will be played on the show, since she's a dance instructor.

The Sandy Hook singing troop is booked solid until 2014 so they had to settle for Boston.

They did find a housewife from Topeka who burned her hand on a pressure cooker, but her appearance fee was too pricey.

Agreed. Feels like emotional manipulation to me. But, maybe it is for ratings "only", but still a manipulation, and still for "money". Which is what everything is about these days... Money!
