I had an incredibly strange nightmare last night. If anyone has any insight to its meaning, I would be grateful.

I had an incredibly strange nightmare last night. If anyone has any insight to its meaning, I would be grateful.
Last night, I had a nightmare that's been bothering me constantly since I woke up. Perhaps there is someone here who can give me some extra perspective on it's meaning, if anyone is willing.

In the nightmare, I was inside a house. It was night, and there were no lights on, and the moonlight shined through the windows of this small little room and this little alove inside the room. There was a dog I owned, and I was trying to get the dog to come out of the alcove.

But the dog was incredibly afraid of something. It seemed like the dog was afraid of something behind me, but although it was very dark in the room the moonlight was enough for me to see that there wasn't anything there that I could see. I couldn't seem to get the dog to come out, and despite my attempts to assure it that there was nothing there, it backed away into the shadows, afraid of something that I could not see.

Flash forward a little bit, I was trying to get some meat, presumably for the dog. For some reason I went into an attic with a light to find this meat. After doing so, I apparently also needed to get a.. detached door. Sort of like a screen door of a house. However, there was a problem with the door. I wanted to get the window screen on, and the window screen on it would not go on all the way.

...I have no clue what any of this means, but I feel like it means something important. Does the dog cowering in fear at something that I can't see mean that there's something that -I- should fear going on that I can't see in real life? Does the door and the screen I couldn't attach mean that there is something in my life that can be getting in despite my having figurative closed doors?

I am really struggling with the meaning here. When I woke up, it felt important, but I don't know what it means. It feels like there could be something going wrong with my life that I can't see. It's very mysterious and I can't quite pinpoint the actual meaning.

The meaning of dogs...
If the dog is black, it is a friend who really hates you
If themdognis brown, that is your best friend
If the dog is light colored it can be either an illness to you, or a spirit friend

Dogs sense things we don't (as do little children), the fact that you felt the dog cowered to something behind you, there is something behind you.

That could be a spirit, it could be a past guilt you have repressed, it could be that you were in your future and there was something you left behind you.

The window screen itself is nothing. But a door or window you can't open is something stifling you.m Locked in. If you were able to open the door or window, then you can release what it is.

If I were you...
1- I'd first get my house blessed
2- is there something in your past that "sits on your shoulder" that you can make amends for
3- pray for understanding. Keep a,pen and notebook near your bed so you can jot down first think that comes into your head. When you wake up, don't look to the window (like we usually do to see what weather is) because your thoughts go out the window. That's why lots of people can't remember dreams.

Thank you for your insight, 34353211 - The dog had no distinguishable coloring or shade. Well I mean I do know it wasn't a dark dog, but I don't think it was necessarily a light dog either. This was basically under the illumination of monotonous bluish moonlight, so I don't think it was very easy to tell.

There is some entity who wants to make bad to you, can be your shadow being, meaning if you're good it will be opposite of you. Try to keep lights on, flashlight was good :) Mark the day when it happened, look for the signs of moon and stars, sun. Is it a bad moon rising for you or maybe U are attacked by beings from your past, friends family and so on. As I understand U have a dog, look how it behaves, maybe the answer lie there. By the way Dog=God.

Agreed; everything in a dream is symbolic.

A dwelling- house, building, etc. in a dream represents the human MIND. The above poster's synopsis is the first thing that occurred to me also; have you had any dealings in the occult or experimenting with the same? You could have an unwanted spirit presence in your life.

Also doing what the preceding poster wrote and keeping a dream 'journal' is an excellent idea
