WTF Is Going On Here? Television Violence At An All Time High = NBC's Revolution

Now, I'm far from a prude, but last time I checked, "prime time" network television is roughly rated PG-13, and does not allow nudity or cursing, yet...

I'm watching tonight's episode of NBC's Revolution and I was actually shocked by the extreme amount of violence it continues to show... quite graphically.

On a side note, I have enjoyed the series so far, as it takes place in a post-apocalyptic USA, where people are literally fighting desperately to survive and make it in the 'new world'. There is an obvious military/war atmosphere to the show with organized militia factions battling for control of limited land, tech and resources.
So, I suppose death is expected. BUT...

Back to tonight's Violence.

The show begins with an actual execution via firing squad.
The man is clearly shown in the background being shot multiple times in the chest.

Soon after, a man threatens to "rip out the throat" of an ally who questions his motives.

Next, two armed guards are taken from behind by knifepoint and have their throats slit by few members of a rebel strike force team. Although the blood is not shown, the men are clearly killed in brutal style.

(Not knocked out from behind...throats slit.)

Lovely.

As if that wasn't enough, it continues to a scene where a man, who had his food stolen from hungry travelers, forces them to the ground on their knees via gunpoint with the intent to shoot them execution style in the head for stealing his and his family's food.

Luckily... the woman on her kness facing death by execution manages to pull out her own gun and shoot him first. We later see his body laying there in the dirt as others find him dead by gunshot wound.

Well, at least that one was self defense... right?

Immediately after, the woman has a nasty fall as she and her friend are running from the crime scene and we are treated to a close up of her bloody bone sticking out of her freshly broken leg!

Ladies and gentlemen, this was only the 1st 15 minutes of the episode! Kill count = 4 dead... 40 minutes of show still to go.



I could go so many ways with this...

Occult, Illuminati, Satanic Hollywood... Desensitizing (brainwashing) the masses to our current real world violence and war. Making it acceptable, programable and even 'cool' to see and do these horrific things. Life imitates art.

Religiously, further proof of our 'fallen' society, as humans continue to become more degenerate and actually celebrate acts of depravity, cruelty and sin as it is a clear reflection of who they are and what they have become as a race. Art imitates life.

I mean, this is practically a god damned snuff/guro film on prime time network t.v.!
