STFU and change the channel to Nick JR. =-) I could point out all the violence and "fantasy violence" that is shown on children's shows and cartoons. It's everywhere! You should know better then that. I'm giving an example of NETWORK PRIME TIME T.V. That's something that should be considered as important here. This is not an R rated cable movie. It's NBC snuff porn! Last Edited by Knowbody Special on 05/07/2013 12:57 AM |

User ID: 979327 Puerto Rico 05/07/2013 01:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Go back to one of the most beloved shows of all time: "All in the Family" Wonder why it's not in syndication somewhere? The main character, 'Archie Bunker', was a blatant racist, went to KKK meetings with his hood and sheets....... Every episode had dialogue about the 'J's', 'wtbks', 'chnks', 'ngs', 'spks'....etc. That was 'sit down as a family' entertainment time back in the day. Archie's Chair from the show is now proudly on display in the Smithsonian. It's all in the 'programming', baby! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 37394472 United States 05/07/2013 01:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Desensitize me MSM, I want to kill people with no remorse. I watch all those prime time snuff shows with a pen and paper. I take notes and learn how to maim and torture people the best way possible. /sarcasm off What the hell are you doing watching that stuff? Turn it off. Go to work and laugh at the people at the water cooler talking about it. Call them sick and twisted for watching it. Actually, don't do that, they will think you are strange and then you will be laid-off or fired. Strange times we live in.... Indeed! |

(OP) User ID: 3753361 United States 05/07/2013 05:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I see the desensitization has set in deeply when this is acceptable without question and most simply shrug if someone points out how corrupt and deplorable this actually is. Television Programming... Indeed. Turning a blind eye to what is going on is not a solution to the increasing problem at hand. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 27317240 United States 05/07/2013 05:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It really comes down to what children are taught to believe is morally acceptable behavior. I understand your concern about what is being shown on TV where kids can see it but most kids have the internet and will see what they want to see. The point though is that violence, profanity, nudity and the like are only going to affect a person as far as that individual is subjective to being brainwashed. I grew up playing Mortal Kombat when it was the most gratuitously violent game ever, listening to Marilyn Manson and Eminem when they were "America's biggest problems" and watched plenty of rated R movies (not to mention the Holy Grail of my youth, movies that were so grotesque they deserved the "NC-17" rating) long before I was 17. All that is to say that I've always recognized fiction as fiction. If the issue is more about what is being shown, look at the news and then wonder why the film\TV industry imitates it. Kids don't stay kids forever and the world is a complicated place. |

It gives the impression when shtf, we'll all have perfect teeth, tight jeans, unlimited ammo, insect free environment. And, all the women running loose and free. Now, that's bullshit. There will be very few young or not so young women if shtf. They'll either sex slaves, dead from infections, or belong to a collective. You want to watch "real"? Rent the movie- The Road. Anonymous Coward User ID: 26860321 United States 05/07/2013 09:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well what the fuck do you think a show called "Revolution" in a 10:00pm time slot would be like? Thats not a sit own family time slot. most younger viewers are presumed to be in bed by that time slot. It's intended for adults before the 11:00 o'clock news. That being said, it's the programming to compete with cable networks. Either they give the viewers what they are interested in or they loose audience and go out of business. |

I enjoy violent programming such as this, or CSI, but when my kids are up and we are watching it is either some what educational (History, discovery, cooking, etc). Of course the NHL playoffs are on now, so they are getting their fill of violence now. |

The comments by so many unenlightened people to your post is very telling as far as how debased this civilization has become. The point of your post was completely missed by those whom say "Don't like it? Then, don't watch it". Looking the other way, aka, burying our heads in the sand, is not the answer to making society better. Thank you for pointing out the absolute crap being televised these days during prime time. I don't watch TV for obvious reasons, so I wouldn't have known about the degree of depravity to which the "entertainment" industry has sunk. |

Plus, the two main actors suck. A lot. I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain. |

Can't believe there are apologists in here FOR the TV programming/industry. Obviously the programming *has* worked and they are fully in it's thrall. They will even stick up for it with no compensation. Well, maybe they are paid shills. Either way, it's pretty obvious and sick. Here's a TV meme for the shills and/or brainwashed. It's all you might understand: "You are the weakest link, GOODBYE!" |
