The worship of the union of the sexual organs originated in Ancient Babylon. The cross with a serpent wrapped around it was originally a symbol of the union of God and woman, and the Cross did not find its way into Christian Art until almost 700 years after the death of Christ. God's original promise to humanity was for victory over the serpent. In war, Moses used, as a banner, a symbol representing that promise: a dead serpent, held up on a staff, probably with a crossbar to hang it on. It would have been understood in all languages that Isreal was spearheading the war against the serpent. But Israel became corrupt, and people began to worship the serpent, so a prophet istructed Israel to get rid of the banner. Rome stole, or adopted, the symbol for its own version of power and terror, using the cross as an instrument of torture. It was a truly Satanic inspiration, as if Satan transformed the banner of Moses into a symbol of victory over humanity. Jesus recaptured the cross as a symbol, but he warned us that he would be raised up on it like the brass serpent of Moses. That is, he warned us that people would come to worship the image of his corpse, hanging on the cross. Like the brass serpent, that idol of Jesus will have to be abandoned before the cross is fully cleansed, and prepared for use as a battle standard. When it is finally only a symbol of victory, we will have victory. |

It evokes the memory of Jesus. He did not mean that we should be crucified on our crosses. That was a mistake the pagan Romans made in attempting to retain the cross as a symbol when they could no longer use it to terrorize their enemies. In effect, they made the same mistake Israel made, and used it to display an idol, for worship. It is a symbol and a banner of war. It is not for worship. Jesus said nothing about worshipping the cross. It is only a sign for sorting out friends from enemies, and rallying the troops for battle. |
