Re: Starbucks Diaper Police
The other side to coffee houses are bars and clubs, I wouldn't take my child there either...regular restaurants have coffee and booze too.
 Quoting: BRIEF

Well, I was a child long before Americans got so silly about alcohol. It's that puritanism in at least the yankee sections of America, now hiding behind modern liberalism - seems a misnomer, doesn't it? My father used to refill our water glasses with wine in some places that didn't want to serve us directly - but that was just in some states. In Texas, up until the 1980's, your father or mother could legally serve you anything they liked at their own table.

I'm sure my parents foresaw this annoying modern puritanism for they made sure to send all of their children out of the country to school by the time we were ten. I completely escaped the dumbing-down, the forced integration and bussing and even co-ed classes, till I came back for college, and what a shock waiting for me when I got here! Now we have a lot of barbarians who can't hold their liquor because nobody ever taught them at home how to respect and enjoy it as part of civilized life.

And, as to the restaurants, children used to behave better in public a generation ago too! I'd never have lived to grow up had I once behaved in public so badly that I disrupted other people's enjoyment. At the very least, I'd never have been invited out with my parents again. Now, people let their children run around like wild beasts and not only do nothing to control them, they expect strangers to become instant baby-sitters.

If it were not for children the world would not be, neither would you. As a society we must take the steps necessary to accommodate the most basic of human needs, and if we don't, shame on us, or that (society).

Starbucks was correct to apologize and should install baby-changing stations if they don't want another of these stories.

The world does not revolve around us, the individual. How many times parents have changed their baby in a Starbucks yet no news story about it?

If you go to a store you think no one ever goes to you will find people go to it. People do use things even though we do not see people using it!

There was a comment on that article that I think expresses the point beautifully: if your men's room is temporarily out of order, does that mean it's okay if I just pee in an empty cup right at my table?

Human feces is human feces, be it from a baby or an adult and it does not belong in a dining room! Are you really too stupid to understand that? Civilization did just fine for centuries keeping the problem of dirty diapers a private matter and not inflicting its details on the eye of the public; there's no excuse for such total lack of consideration for other customers now. Apparently those two ill-bred 'parents' think the 'world revolves around them.' It does not. There are laws against deliberate contamination of an establishment where food is sold and consumed and for the sake of the public health, they must be enforced.

Yea you never know.. too many cameras everywhere and creeps are always lurking. Protect your kids and also protect the other decent people from the stankys.

You are one of those who sees a terrorist booyman behind every corner and
probably likes the airport molestation checks
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22064694

You have shit for brains. No I do not support TSA molestation. I'm a mother. I'm protective. Nice of you to jump to conclusions like that. Hows that going for you?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47390313

It just gives me the creeps when I hear this...
that people are so paranoid now to believe there are 'creeps lurking' down every hallway...

I am happy I decided NOT to have kids if this

society is truly this messed up that when one has kids

the creeps come out of the woodwork ....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22064694

It's really not paranoia. It's precaution.

I remember being at a restaurant and the family at the next table put the baby on the table and changed the shitty diaper right there on the dining table. First and last time I ever saw someone do that. Most people have enough class to go to the restroom to change diapers, but some people must have been raised in a zoo.

I would realize it as a hostile, liberal who thinks just because she has a kid she has the right to trample on others rights no matter how vile....

and realize that she is probably well trained in nasty hostile verbal take downs and any attempt to put an ounce of sanity into her vile world would be bad for you in a public place...

I would just get up and move far away from the nasty &(**( and let her be...

karma comes
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22064694

On the contrary, liberals generally have more respect for others. It's a conservative who thinks that their spoiled bratty kids are "Gods gift" so they have a right to be here to trample on others rights no matter how vile. Get your facts straight. At least liberals believe in abortion. dumbass

Re: Starbucks Diaper Police
I've never witnessed anyone changing diapers in a coffee house before, but...

While standing inline at HEB grocery store, there was a real 'tard (sorry I don't know the PC word for real 'tard) on the next checkout line bagging groceries and he picked his nose and pulled out one of those foot long boogers and proceeded to consume it and went on to not wipe his hand and finished handling the persons groceries.

I usually have an iron stomach but that day I about lost it.

I had to get out of line to notify management as it was too much grossness in public and a very bad health hazard.

What did the manager say?
This recent custom of stores putting retards on the registers - and some of the Walmarts actually put them on the cash registers, where they screw up the totals constantly - has to be stopped. They're probably getting them cheap and maybe some tax credits for 'hiring the handicapped,' but it's just too disgusting to put up with. And there seem to be so many of them, it's getting scary...
