I will make a 97 minute feature sci-fi thriller. I will gainfully employ 17 crew members, 8 actors and 6 visual FX / Post production Editors for 30-90 days.

From the cred I get from making a successful feature film, I will be able to secure a larger budget for the next film, thus doubling the number of jobs / people I can gainfully employ.

With the cred I receive from that second film, I will finally have enough money & respect & street credit to gainfully employ 100 people full-time and make two films a year until I retire and hand the reins over to someone else who just needs someone to believe in them.

Just like I need someone like you to believe in me.

That's what I can do with your $100,000 investment in me.

The flaw in your thinking is that you don't see that every individual must be motivated to create this utopia for themselves - that they become independent of others.

If you just create it, there are those who will exploit it until nothing is left.

The decision to live that way must be made by every living person on earth or it can NEVER happen. Ever.

I want to point out that ironically most of the "plans" suggested would require much, much less, or much, much more money than 100k.

I know a company which needs $150K.
$100K will get it 2/3rd there.

This technology increases farmland productivity by 100-900%.

It is not chemical, and does not degrade.

It will literally save millions of lives from starvation every year.

Re: I just inherited ~3 million $. Tell me how YOU can change the world if I give you 100k.
The internet has introduced humanity to a new paradigm, global peer-to-peer communication in real time. Political systems the world over were built in - and for - a world not only without the internet, but even without telephones, automobiles and airplanes. Representative republicanism was an innovation necessitated by the need for collective decision making, without the TOOLS available to allow (or enable) widespread direct participation. So instead, LOCAL elections were held to select a representative who would act as a proxy for the people, who would then travel far away (and out of contact except by snail mail) to act as their AGENT. It wasn't perfect, but it was the best that could be arranged at the time.

TODAY - such a system is archaic, inefficient, ill-informed, and our "representatives" are unable to even read new legislation (Patriot Act, Obamacare) before its voted on! And worse, this horse-and-buggy system is prone to abuse by the ultra wealthy who employ think tanks to write the legislation that our representatives then vote on.

Don't get me wrong, for a long time the system functioned better than any other.

But then so did the steam engine - until new innovations that increased productivity and lowered costs supplanted it.

And there is nothing inherently wrong with "think tanks" - except when their mission is to serve the interests of the few, not the many.

We need a form of direct participation that does not suffer from the limitations that spawned the representative system as it exists today.

Such a new system would still be a representative system, but with twist. The only thing wrong with an elitist, is their failure to accept that being "elite" is a temporary, fleeting position, that is difficult to earn, and easy to lose. Or at least it SHOULD be easy to lose! Our system has become perverted to protect incompetent and corrupt power exercisers, while denying access to the competent and accountable.

Ultimately politics is not about people, but ISSUES. We elect representatives to go vote on ISSUES. The problem is, these "representatives" are incapable of fulfilling that role anymore. What we need are representatives FOR ISSUES, not exclusively for regions. For in a world with peer-to-peer, region based politics is inadequate. If someone is going to represent us on an issue, they need to be competent about that issue. Yet, there needs to be an avenue of attainment by which ANYONE can gain that competency. Participation should NOT be "credential" based, but KNOWLEDGE based. And knowledge pertinent to an issue should be determined by open source education and testing.

In this endeavor, computers and the internet become our SERVANTS, not our masters. The means now exist to create a true peer-to-peer form of participatory self-governance that is "elite" based (because if someone is going to vote to approve or disapprove a new vaccine for instance, they should KNOW something about chemistry and biology!), but not tenured, not credentialed, not inherited, and not bestowed. If a 19 year old has the talent to study and pass the necessary tests, which will always be objective, not subjective, and graded by computers, NOT people, that person gets to VOTE on that issue. And if someone has ten PhD's in biology and chemistry, but fails to pass the test, they DON'T get to vote!

I would use the $100,000 to leave my day job and spend the next year writing a detailed treatment of this approach. I am a trained lawyer and computer programmer.

It's time for new IDEAS. And as Napoleon once said, all the armies of the world cannot stop an idea whose time has come.

Thank you for your generous offer.

Haha, my garden paradise cannot be exploited in anyway. What will there be to exploit? The lack of cancer and obesity? The brotherly love? The trust and the happy animals (including us)?. And, like I said, it begins when were all growing pot in our backyards. Sure, people might do the opposite of what I tell them, but those people are likely to end up in an empty mansion sitting on a pile of gold while me and all my new friends (or family as I see them) are out getting younger every day (no more need to age, just superfoods, a lot of activity, and little to no stress) .

As for everyone m aking the decision to live that way? My friend, you will come to see that there is simply no other way. For what other way could there be? Trust me, I would not push for such an idea had I not gone over it hundreds of times, looking for some reason why it cannot work. It merely takes a lot of stoners, grapevines, and manna (shrooms) ... Also I hope everyone learns to become a generous, inventive, passionate, enduroing lover. Great sex for everyone is enough to change the world.

Do you like mathematics OP? I have several unpublished proofs. One of them is a lesser form of the twin primes conjecture which proves there are infintely many pairwise coprime twin pairs. I have another which shows that there are infinitely many closed form formula which produce arbitrarily long prime sequences.

Fund my research which could very likely lead to a solution of the Riemann Hypothesis.

By the way, if the RH is true, then there is a polynomial hierarchy collapse. Of course, you don't hear that in mainstream academia, they will all swear up and down that RH is true AND P!=NP, which is funny because those two statements are mutually exclusive. Of course, they are a little bit behind also.

What a lovely gesture you presumably make.

Here is what I would do with that kind of money.

In fact I don't need that kind of money. I would just be
happy with $50K.

I would buy a particular RV that I have been looking at online tonight and a one ton truck to pull the 5th wheel.

How I would make a difference would be that I would travel around with the RV group called "The Escapee's"....

I would spread my sunshine everywhere I went.

I would take my little beloved doggy and my little beloved kitty with me...........

The three of us would make others happy by just our presence because we all are about love, life, giving, living and service to others.

Though I am not professionally trained in the field.......I would be a teacher.

I have a wealth of knowledge in my head that I am just bursting to give to others if they would only receive.

I am a happy person and love life and people and animals.

I would spread this love all around.

I would need the money to buy an RV (that I have found online tonight) and the price is $24,900. I estimate though am not sure about the cost........a truck to pull it....perhaps another $25K but I don't know...would need some advice on that part.

Where I live right now..........my home and the land is all about love and life and growing. I have a huge garden going...that I share with any one that will enjoy it.

I have a standing weekly appointment with the local Mormon missionaries to come over and I fix them lunch once a week.

The joy they give me is so incredible I just can't believe it.

They have helped me til my garden and I call the garden "The Sisters Garden". I have stepping stones spread out across the garden area and each "Sister" will inscribe her name on a stone.

My life is good and I am happy. I just want to take that joy on the road and give it to as many people as I can.

There is a mission for me out there and I am ready to fulfill it.

Thank you for your post. Even if it is just a trick and a come-on. Posting a reply has giving me a lot of happiness just thinking about what I said and feeling the goodness and feeling the happiness that I feel right now.

Every one has debts and a sob story.....but I don't feel like that tonight. I am filled with hope and anticipation.

Blessings to you even if this is a ruse. Blessings to you because you made me think tonight about hope, joy, love and giving and sharing.

OK.........I'm done. (((((((((((((smile)))))))))))

My husband (deceased) always said, "Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day... teach him how to fish and he can eat for a lifetime."

I think you should do PAID contracts with business people - plumbers, carpenters, people who perform needed services ...

Have them provide paid apprenticeships to unskilled workers, so that they can eventually provide for their families and themselves.

College degrees are costly and don't guarantee jobs !!

Good luck with your endeavor. God Bless You. hf

I would build a self sustaining, complete eco system, aquaculture farm of which I would proceed to feed the world.
This would bankrupt the likes of Monsanto and every other crony controlling corporation trying to enslave us through the domination of our food supply.

Once this domino effect started, the system would surely crash making money obsolete - which would then solve your problem of what to do with your worthless money.

Meanwhile, people would gather and together we would setup these eco systems worldwide turning the earth back into a thriving garden.

A worthy investment.

The 100 grand would be needed to buy ammo as I doubt TPTB would go without a fight ... and GLP would have the top thread permanently being "There is no longer a need to ever bring in your tomato plants"

Yes, absolutely.........give it to someone else more needy..

There are so many homeless, hopeless and helpless people out there that truly could benefit from your gift.

They are more deserving and most assuredly........they should be the beneficiary of your benevolence.

I just wanted to share my immense joy that I feel tonight.

My neighbors have one of those RV's that I spoke of and they gave me the grand tour of their RV tonight. I just loved it so much. What they did re-ignited my dream of becoming a full time RV'er. I am still all a flutter about still holding that dream in my mind. That dream feels almost so real and so close and so "meant to be". That dream keeps resurfacing from time to time across the years like something I am supposed to do but like.........why haven't you don't it yet? LOL

I change the world everyday for a dog or two or three. Have been operating a rescue sanctuary for all sorts of animals but mostly dogs for 18yrs. Mostly with my own money. Some donations. I also help other pet owners keep their dogs in their homes by teaching them and fixing the problems that lend themselves to people wanting to give up their dogs. Their are no bad dogs just bad owners. Uneducated owners and stupid owners. Sorry but true. What I have choosen to do with my life might not be Earth Changeing or World changeing on a grand scale but I guess its somthing. Could always use some extra help. I would purchase country land in Canada or Ecuador and setup a situation where people can come and stay for free on the land in order to get away from stress in their lives and have time to think, garden and heal. Would contact local shamans to assist as well.

I would make sure ancient trees were not cut and try to preserve natural beauty in my part of the world as the city encroaches. Would make trails and paths through the network of forests and advocate a more relaxed approach to life.

Would list the land in some legal fashion so that it could never be sold for profit, even by myself.

Everyone that's making plans to feed the world, give people water, or set up off-the-grid living is really just making a plan that is a small part of my plan to create an adventure park (paradise, bitches) . Gotta look at the big picture, people. Go big, or go home to your box house surrounded by strips of desert (well, the mineral is knwon as concrete) and other box cages.
Anyone ever notice that we live a zoo (for people?) Why did we decide it was a good idea to cluster in small areas across the land (cities) ? Oh right, because of the work that the industrial revilution (more like the birth of babylon amirite) brought. Honestly, I wish we'd never evolved freewill, the knowledge to use fire, ANY OF IT. We'd all be alkot better off as monkeys in trees. But don't take my word for it, use some sense!
