The Book of Revelation - A Synopsis

I know alot of people are interested in the book of Revelation, and they should be because this is the time we are living in now, the last days.

However, many people don't want to attempt to read it because it is overwhelming to them and difficult to understand.

Many people have made end days time lines to help people understand the list of events, but they always make the timeline based on their "opinion" of how it's going to come down.........and we all know what opinions mean.

Here is an accurate synopsis of the Book of Revelation, from start to finish, listing the chapters and the events that take place in each chapter. I only listed exactly what the verses actually say and not my own interpretation of them.

Anything in parenthesis is my own commentary or cross references, not to be confused with what the actual book of revelation says.

Please understand that the book of Revelation is a basic outline of the end time events. It does not fully explain every single detail of what will happen, just the important main points, or what we need to know. What we "need" to know is not always what we "want" to know.

The Book of Revelation - events listed by chapter

Chapter 1 – John sees a vision of Jesus

Chapter 2 – Messages to the Churches

Chapter 3 – Letter

Chapter 4 – John sees the throne room

Chapter 5- Praising Jesus

Chapter 6 – The 6 seals are broke open

Chapter 7 – The 144k are marked (sealed) for protection

Chapter 8 – The 7th seal is opened, trump 1-4 is sounded

Chapter 9 - Trump 5-6 is sounded

Chapter 10 – The 7th trump is explained to John to be the revealing of God’s ultimate plan for His servants. The “mystery of God” will be accomplished.

(1 Corinthians 15: 51-52 “Listen, I tell you a “mystery”: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. For the trump will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 “ According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

Matthew 24:30-31 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Matthew 24:39-41 "That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.")

Chapter 11 – The 2 witnesses testify for 3.50 years, then are killed by the beast and taken up into heaven. Then a great earthquake hits, then the sounding of the 7th trump is sounded.

Chapter 12 – The symbol of the woman, manchild and “her other offspring”. Woman flees into the wilderness and is protected for 3.50 years. The manchild is caught up to heaven while satan wages war with “the rest of her offspring”.

(I believe “the woman” is Israel, spiritual or literal Israel, I do not know. Who is the “manchild” that is caught up to heaven at this point? I used to believe it was Jesus, but now I see it is the 144k. The “rest of her offspring” I believe is the rest of the believers on earth who are not part of the 144k first fruits…this is just my interpretation, I could be wrong. Feel free to give your theory of the woman, manchild and her other offspring)

Chapter 13 – Antichrist takes full power and he is given permission to wage war on God’s Holy People. Mark of the beast is instituted. God’s people are given instructions to remain patient and faithful to God.

Chapter 14 – The 144k are seen on Mount Zion with Jesus. Babylon fallen, more instructions for God’s people to be patient and faithful. Harvest of the wicked grapes.

Chapter 15 – The 7 bowls of wrath, or the 7 plagues, are the completion of God’s wrath explained.

Chapter 16 – The bowls of wrath or “plagues” are poured out on the earth, people still do not repent. Jesus announces that He will come as a thief and to stay awake!

Chapter 17 – Judgment of the “Harlot” and others.

Chapter 18- Babylon punished, God’s people warned to “come out of her”.

Chapter 19 – Marriage supper of the lamb. Satan cast into the abyss and satan’s troops also killed. Satan stays chained in the “prison” for 1000 years while Jesus reigns.

Chapter 20 – The 1st resurrection, the righteous rule with Jesus for the 1000 years. At the end of the 1000 years, satan is let loose for a “short time to deceive the nations” yet again. The final conflict comes to a conclusion and satan is sent to the lake of fire forever. Then the 2nd resurrection happens. Hell gives up it’s dead and they are judged according to what they did while on earth.

Chapter 21 – The new earth and new heavens come. New Jerusalem comes down from heaven, everything is new, no more death, suffering.

Chapter 22 – Description of life on this new earth. No sun, the tree of life, the throne of God, nothing foul. Only people that will be there are the ones with God’s name written on their foreheads.
