Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26165384 it had been filling in from the bottom very slowly, but now that bottom has dropped. We've all seen the vids of the tidal motion on the sinkhole's surface....which points to it being connected to the gulf from somewhere deep underground... Main concern now should be whether Bayou Corne is a connecting 'hub' to other salt domes. |

Main concern now should be whether Bayou Corne is a connecting 'hub' to other salt domes. It's been my theory for a while now that the Bayou Corne sinkhole is part of/inside a failing Saltdome. All other Saltdomes in the Gulf that originated in that same geologic period are connected at the bottom /base level. And at the base level, that base connects to the Gulf. Look at available diagrams of Saltdomes. |

Texas Brine is still working to finish the levee and bring it to its final height. Quoting: 411 40740913 The now submerged levee is as high as 3.9 feet at its highest point, parish officials said.
