Baseball isn't even a real sport. You have the guys sitting on the bench stacking their piles of junkfood litter infront of them during a game like the fans in attendance.

Some roids are basically synthetic testosterone. Why do you think middle-aged men with low Testosterone get prescribed it and then they rave that not only are the feeling more manly, they are no longer walking around "in a haze" and thus are able to concentrate/focus more?

That's why pro athletes get PED. It's not just about power - although that's a huge deal when the difference between a HR and a fly-out is a few feet, and a difference between 15 HR and 25 HR a year is 10+ extra million dollars in new contract.... It's about about overall improvement.

The only downside of roids is shrinking testicles, more tendons/hamstrings pull injuries.... and of course that whole "early death from heart attacks and cancer" thing, LOL.

Roids and other substances have existed before - obviously aformentioned amphetamines use that goes back to at least 40s-50s...... There are rumours that Mike Schmidt, Walter Peyton and few other greats were juicing.... but it really wasn't until late-80s Jose Conseco that roids became an EPIDEMIC.

Another thing about Canseco is that people remember him as a slugging one-dimensional DH-type, but supposedly he was an ELITE athlete in High-school and minor leagues. Roids just made him hit the ball 500 feet, lol

Conseco had 200 career stolen bases in the major leagues and put up a 40/40 season in '88.

They used to be called "glandular extracts" back in the day, and men went off to special clinics to get injections. Generally they had to kill the critter they were extracting from on the spot (1800's)due to lack of preservation options.

He was even more amazing athlete in high-school - kinda like Wilt Chamberlain who is only remembered as a talk guy dominating slow white midgets, but in fact the guy was an AMAZING athlete in his teenage years for someone over 7 feet tall, and for a skinny guy could bench-press 600 pounds and literally move guys on basketball court out of the way with one hand....

Mickey Mantle is said to have been just insanely talented. He wasn't even 6 feet tall or did any steroids, but Mantle could hit the ball close to 600 feet if he used today's juiced baseballs (corked center). But for a slugger, he also played great defense in CF and had the fastest time from batter's box to 1st base in baseball history (faster than Ichiro's who is fastest in modern era)

Willie Mays was also crazy talented for a smaller guy. Do you remember old footage of him maknig that crazy catch deep in CF during World Series? What people don't realize is that in those days, some ballparks had 500 foot to CF, so Willie Mays tracked that ball down to 490-foot sign, talk about great range! And what's even less known is that Willie Mays then threw the ball back to the infield almost in one motion and it was an amazingly strong and accurate throw that today's OF can only dream of.

Another freak of nature was Bo Jackson. Adrian Peterson the NFL running back and LeBron James are rightly considered as having outstanding combination of speed and power, but Bo Jackson is said to dwarf both both of them! Bo Jackson's speed was Olympic 100 meter spring-caliber. And there are also stories of him playing MLB baseball, playing RF running back on a towering fly-ball that looked like it was going to be a HR, then literally CLIMBING the outfield wall, stealing a would-be HR-- and one motion as he did that Spiderman act, he threw the ball back to the infield on the line, without it bouncing even once or hitting the cut-off man.

That's why we love sports. Not steroids, but feats of human excellence and entertaiment, woot-woot!

Pitchers used to scuff the baseball, use all sorts of banned substances, spitball. It's one of the reasons why pitchers in olden days were so dominant: between their cheating techniques and the baseballs themselves that used to have those big ugly seams that were so easy to grip and thus throw a breaking pitch with insane, video-game like movement.

(whereas today baseballs are very smooth and hard to grip and therefore to get a comparable crazy curveball or slider, a pitcher has to put more stress and torque on his arm, thus leading to more elbow and shoulder injuries....)

Brewers Ryan Braun suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season, 65 games for his involvment in the cheating scandal.

He cut a deal, for less games (100+ games was the rule) and will not appeal his suspension or deny his guilt.

More players soon to be added to the list. This will be the biggest mass multi-player suspension due to cheating in sports history.

A world where liars, cheaters and people of poor character and obvious ignorance are celebrated, worshiped and rewarded millions of dollars, with little to no accountability to have integrity in their professional or personal lives.

Have you guys ever wondered why it is that MLB has more problems with steroids than other sports? Baseball is not considered a power sport and steroids are known for their ability to make players stronger. So why do they use it? Some people will say that it is because is helps players hit the ball farther or help pitchers recover faster. Ok, maybe but that is not the main reason.

Here's the reason. Steroids improve hand-eye co-ordination. It is such a drastic improvement that it can make an ordinary person into a good athlete and a good athlete into a great one. A-Rod is an average, at best, athlete but with steroids he is a star.

If you still have doubts about steroids ability to improve hand-eye co-ordination look no further than Tiger Woods. With steroids he is one of the best golfers of all time. Without steroids, Woods is average.

Nascar should also start testing its athletes for steroids. With their ability to improve hand-eye co-ordination, motorsports would be a prime candidate for steroid use. Look at this picture of Carl Edwards: [link to www.thefastandthefabulous.com]

Thanks. The media seems to not want to talk about this because then everyone would realize that athletes are now manufactured. Tiger Woods was manufactured to make black athletes look good in an all-White sport. Soon a black Nascar driver will also be manufactured. Just wait and see.
