Wait a minute here.....She was trying to leave the scene of the traffic stop with her dog. YOU DON'T DO THAT!! Deaf or not, everybody knows you don't do that.

I worked with a deaf guy in a fabrication industry. He KNEW how hard it was to "speak" with non-deaf people. This woman should have known that the officer might not understand her. This may be considered rude, and insensitive to her condition, but did she "speak" like all deaf people I have known/watched on tv "speak"? Kind of a nasal sounding twang to it? Hearing that for the first time would have thrown anybody off, cop or not. What? Excuse me? I CANNOT UNDERSTAND YOU!, PLEASE STAY HERE!>>>>while the woman tries to walk away with her dog........

So he repeatedly bashes her head in? Whatever happened to twisting somebody's arm around behind their back and slapping some cuffs on them?

I hear what you are saying!! It is sad! But I can entertain the possibility of failure in communications. It can be extremely stressful trying to communicate and get "their side" of things. Even in a non stressful situation. I had the hardest time understanding my co-worker while "speaking" over blue prints. He understood me just fine though.

What ever happened to plain old handcuffing people and putting them in the squad car?

Now, it seems, you also get beaten until you're a swollen mess.

Police are taking their aggressions out on people unnessarily and this is suppose to be o.k.? It's psychopathic.

Also, the article NEVER mentioned being almost beaten to death, or her head bashed in repeatedly. She was punched 3 times in the face (according to the article). Kind of a big girl though. I know I would defend myself from a larger foe. Deaf people can understand hearing-competent people just fine. Most have lived their entire lives that way. They know they are a minority and learn to adapt to "Our View" of things. It's a bit different the other way around.

this, I know we don't know the full story, but I'm quite sure violence was not needed, or even allowed for that matter. This was a case of police brutality.

she's not actually deaf, she has a hearing impairment. So my guess is she has regular speech. Also, fuck a cop. It's for the cops protection that she took the fucking dog into her friend's apartment. Since when is walking away from a cop reason to be assaulted?

Obamacare needs patients- The cops are providing them by their beating people to the point that they need to be hospitalized.

A cop pulls your over. You turn on your blinker. You pull to a safe spot off the roadway. Cop pulls in behind. You keep your lights on and engine running, unless the officer advises differently. MOST people know this. Other wise there would be more pursuits.

Cop will ask for ID and vehicle papers. May possibly ask you to step out of the vehicle. Nothing about removing the dog from the vehicle to have the owner (conveniently) happen to know a friend 30 feet away that she should take her dog to! Is the officer fucking retarted? YOU DON'T FLEE A TRAFFIC STOP!" MOST of us know this!!!!!!!! CASE FUCKING CASE!!!...pending any other developments/facts
