Should This Catholic Teacher Attend a LGBT Parade?

OP I hope you lose your job for being gay.

Who said I was gay? I'm not a small-minded bigot. I support everybody's right to their own sexual expression.

LGBT weekend event returns to Peace River

The only Gay Pride Walk walk north of Edmonton will be happening right here in Peace River on June 14 -16 in the 3rd Regional Annual LGBT Pride Weekend.

The goal of the weekend-long event, which is hosted by the Peace River Regional LGBT Pride Committee, is to show support for LGBT individuals in the Peace Country and remind them that they are not alone.

The walk is for everybody, including LGBT and heterosexual individuals, says Emily Styles, a member of the event planning committee.

“Just come along and see, even if you’re just going to stand at a distance. We don’t bite,” she said.

If you are not gay, I dont think you should go... If they do find out-there is a good chance you will lose your job..

The catholic church views it as a sin, why would you want to support a sin?

Including rapists, pedophiles?

How about beastiality? Do you support THAT expression?

And since you work for a Catholic school, I'm sure you believe the Bible, right?

Leviticus 18:22

Bottom line is that IF you believe in supporting this sin and dont care about losing your job-then by all means go!

Be true to your deepest beliefs and let the consequences be whatever they are.

Would Jesus attend an LGBT parade? Probably. He was always showing up where the "righteous" people thought he shouldn't.

I thought that the Catholic Schools only hired on Catholic teachers? If you are not Catholic, then sure go ahead and attend the parade. But, keep in mind that it's not easy to get a teachers job these days, so you need to decide what's more important to you, keeping your job or supporting your LG friends. If you loose it you will likely end up with a lot of drama trying to sue the Board for firing you. If you like drama, then go ahead.

If you are a Catholic, then you are hypocritical in wanting to attend the parade, because you know it's against their teachings.

Legally I don't know the laws around this, but think it through very thoroughly, because you may seriously regret your actions in a few short years when you are working at Tim Hortons making minimum wage.
