User ID: 34932276 Germany 06/16/2013 08:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Belief in God = Lack of Faith? Many people claim that they believe in a God that helps them, comforts them and guides them through life like a candle in the darkness. But does holding on to these expectations that God will help you, and answer your prayers demonstrate a lack of faith on your part that he would actually do so? What I mean is that your perception God and his "doing" may be entirely different that his actually "doing". Therefore, why cling to a belief when in reality you really have no idea what that belief constitutes?
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you." Matthew 6:33
"...The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:20-21
We don't need any sort of extraneous belief in God because observation of Him and his doing is fruitless. He is not separate from us, He is within - in our actions, in our thoughts, in our love for others. I interpret this as I am able to pursue what I believe is right, fair, and just and as a result will be rewarded - because my decision to do so is motivated by the divine within. I believe in my own ability to bring truth and love into my reality because God is within me - He is my rational to do right in this world.
Therefore believing you need "God's blessing" demonstrates your lack of faith in God. It shows you're unable to accept the divinity within and use that to bring love into this world. You seek outside yourself for an external God when you must trust your rational and "gut-feelings" which, I believe, are inseparable from God.

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9094168 Exactly my point. God cannot be proven or falsified. Therefore, belief is superficial. I believe that my ability to think rationally, love others, and make my own decisions is divinity. |
