Why are using the nvidia card when you bought a AMD apu?
 Quoting: Evil_Twin

It's the card that I was using on my old computer.
 Quoting: CJStryker

But you don't need it at all with the processor and mobo you bought.
 Quoting: Evil_Twin

I'm having a bit of trouble confirming this. I know it disables the internal GPU, but is it necessarily better?

Anyone know more about it?

Personally I would check your benchmarks I think that nvidia is probably bring you down and may open you up to issues. Your set up good and with the processor you have a little under a hundred bucks and you could set it up to crossfire with something compatable that wont shut down your processor.

Some things to take into account when matching a MOBO and video card. Its best to make sure your BUS speeds are the same for the MOBO and Video.

The system will be a lot more stable. Many first time builders make the mistake of miss matching these two crucial components.

Good Job on your first build.

Re: Checkout these pics of my new computer! I've never built one before, but it sure looks neat.
Of course this is an issue about money as well. But I stopped upgrading my PCs. Its better to buy an all new one, mainly because if you upgrade your CPU or something you have useless components lying around. If you buy a new machine you can use the old one as a media center, dedicated emulation machine or something.

Plus no one gives a fuck about a tricked out computer so the resale value is horrible.

Buy a high-end CPU and be patient, save yourself a few grand.

This mobo only has one PCIe slot, so it doesn't matter that there is no SLI/crossfire support.

I think you might be surprised.

That nvidia 4 series card is no slouch, but was never really meant to be a high end gamer card...it was more aimed at the htpc crowd.

The system may categorize you as being disabled, but from the posts I have read - you are anything but disabled. You just think differently and process information in a way in which goes against the main stream of learning... not to mention you are living in a rough situation at home which must really make it hard for you emotionally.

Keep at it CJ - I believe that you are a brilliant young man.
