Guys, listen. I have autism. I think critically. I have a photographic memory, and over a short period of time I can absorb something logical fluently.

Somehow I am disabled! I see people as truly equal, yet every Joe that doesn't like the way I am talking to them hates me. I accept people the way they are, but I am not accepted as I am. I am completely happy with myself, I understand why I am the way I am, and I know who I am.

Seemingly somehow this is a disability. My brain is not neuro-typical. Yet I don't see anything wrong with myself!

Everything is right, and I don't regret anything in life. I would not regret one thing because I might not otherwise exist in the world.

Got a picture for you all so you can see how happy I am!

You are definitely on the autism spectrum, without a doubt. Those of you who have never met or interacted with an autistic person for any length of time need to STFU. Stimulus is a bitch for these people, and they cannot ignore it like we sometimes can. Behaviors are manifested because of this- trying to flee the stimulus, make it stop. Often people on the autism spectrum have digestive disorders which make problems even worse. I have worked with people on the spectrum for a decade and watched the problem explode. Now, SOME KIDS ARE MISDIAGNOSED, and often it's because of bad parents who want a check. I've seen those kind too. Not hard to tell the difference between a true spectrum-dweller and a kid who is a brat. Not hard at all.

Re: I have autism! Do you think I am truly disabled? Ask me anything.
Autism is not something you have, it is something you are.
You are autistic, you dont have it. It is no bacteria, no virus. It doesnt go away, and it is not contagious.

The word autism was coined in the early 40s or something.
And it was ment to describe the phenomenon seen in some kids.
It was thought to be some kind of child schizofrenia.
The word autism comes from the greek word athos and it means
"self". Most autistics have a very strong sense of the self,
but find it hard to connect with the "outside world" of themself. Weird when schizofrenia is kind of the opposit, were they have a very tenuous feeling of the self and find
it hard to seperate there sourounding from the self.

There is as many variations of autism as there is autistics.
we have our neurons wired differently, and every autistic differ in the neurowiering.
Autism is not an disability, it is part of our spieces respons to the unnatural limitations of consensus reality.

Autistics all over this planet are under attack.
We are beeing hustled with on daily bases for beeing different.
We have none autistics speaking for us and trying to
say what we are or are not. What we can and cannot do.
We have organisations like Autism Speaks who dont have
a single autistic person in the boards of directors.
They claim to help autistics, when in reality they morph
the perception of the general public aswell as the parante
to many autistics of what autism is.
They spend most of there donation money on research for
prenatal tests, so parents could be presented with the ooption to abort an autistic child instead of giving birth to it.
Yeah thats right, the biggest so called autism support organisation is actually trying to prevent us from beeing born.
And we have the media, who tries to make a connection with autism and schoolshootings and ppl going postal, when in reality the commmon denominator is SSRI drugs, and not autism.
Autistics all over the world are getting misslabeled,
demonized, abused and demoralized and decouraged by the
way people wrongly see us.

And infact, most of the problems we have when interaction with this world, is not due to autism. It is due to neurotypicals who act predatory and this totaly ludacris world and societies. But ofc autism gets the blame instead.

And i like to remind you all, It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.
We are different for a reason, we are here for a reason.
And it is not due to vaccines, or toxicity during pragnency or any other crap they try to make up.

We are here to teach you that there is a better way.
We are here to teach you, that your sociopathic ways
are not working and you are causing harm to this entire planet and each other in your process.
We are here to teach you, that if you do not connect
with your inner self, you will never understand what you are.
We are here to show you a way out of beeing controlled by
the reptilian part of your brain.
It is time for humanity to evolve out of the predatory mindset. This scares the controllers of the word, they are afraid of people who see true there lies and who will
never conform to your sickening social norms, your hierchy thinking and your herd mentality.

That is the main reason why they are trying to portray autism falsly and it is the main reason why they will
try and stop more of us from beeing born.

Whats the deal OP? I'm AS and dont look like something is wrong with me or that i dont give a shit about my appearance.

Your young though i guess. If you want to develop to a point where you can blend in and even lead you will be able to. Your memory and pattern recognition abilities gives you a big advantage when you learn to apply them to social behavior.

Unless you're the low functioning iq under 90 type. Then i guess just keep posting on glp and let it rip. Who cares right?

OP, the fact that you are brave enough to publicly discuss this matter and put a picture of yourself on this forum suggests to me you are fine with yourself (as you are sensible and intelligent) and you would like some appreciation, compliments and support. We're all human, we all need compliments once in a while!

You're probably feeling isolated, surrounded by extroverted idiots in your everyday life, have no-one to intellectually stimulate you and these idiots are the ones who are saying YOU are the "weirdo" - it's laughable really, as you know. seriously, autism may be the beginning of the next stage of human evolution. Maybe within several generations, autistic people will develop better skills for social interaction through genetics.

So I don't think autistics are disabled, but possibly on the verge of becoming a more hyper-intelligent specialized human.

High functioning autistics can do anything you can do.
It's a legit form of autism. Our high IQ';s make it possible for us to act more like what people would consider normal.

That being said there is a lot of people trying to fake it and
act like it's some special club to join.

I can't get a job. At least not one that requires interacting with other people. Which is all a job really is. Talking to your boss, talking to coworkers, talking to whoever, etc.

It's not that I'm talking to somebody either. It's the stimulation.

All of my senses are magnified. Which is why I have a photographic memory.

I agree with the above posters. I get so sick of people who claim they or their children have autism when most likely they are just socially awkward or a brat. When your child need 24/7 care because you have no road sense, can not shower themselves/shave themselves, chokes because they eat too fast or dont chew, can not talk or talks very little, does not understand simple instructions, hits or self harms, rocks, mutters consistenly, and generally drives their parents up the wall.. then they have autisum. If your child can dress/cook/shower/shave/shop/understand the internet/be left alone longer than an hour... then NO they dont have Autisum. No matter what the "experts" tell you.

Right. Thats not playing by the emotional rules that make people easy to manipulate and control though. So they labeled it a disability. The sensitiveness to stimuli can be it's own unique challenge i suppose but almost everyone i know who would be considered Aspergers has found their own ingenious ways to deal with it. So how can it be a disability?

Shame on you. Sorry that your children are not as high functioning as Stryker. But that does not mean stryker is not on the autism spectrum.

I'm so tired of people acting like high functioning asperger's is nothing and does not disable a person. You have no clue until you experience it.

Styker, my daughter is five years old. She is considered of superior intellegence and her sensory processing disorder is way high....I want to cry for her everyday with the amount of anxiety that plagues her every time she leaves our home. Yet because of her intellegence she has learned how to act in public out of sheer need. Problem is she has a threshold and when she hits it, the anxiety is uncontrollable. She comes off as rude sometimes but she is just being honest and has no idea what it is that she is saying wrong.

Yet because she can hold it together for a certain amount of time, people say there is nothing wrong with her...

I'm sorry that people are telling you this too Stryker. You are a very smart guy. Consider doing something for yourself. Start a blog with a board for people with Asperger's. Make a place for young people to get together and accept one another. Use your exceptional abilities to do something that pleases you! I'd come to such a blog and ask advice about my daughter.

It is painful and the worst part is that every day is more painful than the last. The photographic memory and the level of emotion just builds up over time. It's almost as if when I get hurt the next time I feel the present event and the feelings from every other time the same thing has happened all at once. It's very painful. I don't like when my mother yells because it's more and more scary every time she yells. Nobody could scare me more than her!

I just want to say you should really try and listen to her! I always thought my mother knew everything and it was frustrating when she could not understand what is wrong. My mother is sometimes depressed because of the amount of anxiety I have and the ways people have hurt me.

I would make something, but I lack the creativity of a graphic designer, and I've yet to come across any artists.

Thank you for your advice CJ. I understand what you are saying. My daughter cringes so badly if I raise my voice at her. I will take special care to listen better.

CJ what you call a photographic memory....my daughter seems to have this too, but some of the times it is actually an event that gets trapped in her brain and doesn't get processed so it can get stored in memory, rather than being in rote (sp) memory. Because she is a child, I have to draw pictures for her of the event and help her come to a conclusion so she can see there was an outcome, so she can finish the processing of the memory. This is why each time something happens to you again, it feels like it feels worse. It is compounding each time because it never processed through the other times. I'm not saying you don't have a photographic mind. My daughter remembers things that happened three years ago at the age of two.

She is super intolerant to pain especially. Every cut or bruise hurts her far more than the average person. When she gets hurt she is hyperventilating within 30 seconds. It's awful for her. I don't baby her because of this, as much as I'd like to.

Her logic is amazing. She can understand things that other people cannot because their emotions get in the way. At five she has more understanding than some adults, yet she cannot use it in the real world because she can only take so much before she has to get out of social situations to decompress. She can take about 1/2 hour in a store and then she has to go. She is so beautiful and people compliment her all the time when we are out and she can't stand that.

Anything else you can tell me would be gratefully accepted. She is about to start kindergarten and I am worried about her being in school for a full day. In preschool she held it together real good but started decompressing the second I picked her up and got her in the car. Kindergarten is twice the amount of time so that concerns me that she will not be able to withstand keeping it cool for that long. Any tips for the hours at school?

Thanks for listening CJ.

Re: I have autism! Do you think I am truly disabled? Ask me anything.
Thank you for posting this thread. I have so much to ask, but I don't know where to begin.

My son is 10 years old. he is non verbal, but I believe he does understand language. there are times when he has fits of rage, and wants to either take a shower or go on a car ride. I think he does this because he gets belly aches. You said earlier that you have a lot of pain. Is it a headache or belly ache? I think my son might be in pain when he acts out, and I would like to ease his pain somehow. Do you have any suggestions for me?

If it's anxiety I will get bad stomach pains, and if it's just the shear amount of information I will get a serious migraine.

I've had migraines and went blind in one eye for an hour followed by extreme disorientation and vomiting. All of which is extremely painful!

Showers are something I use to counter the migraines.

The best thing when I have noticed is when I drink some regular green tea it really helps the migraine. I believe it has to do with the heat and also the mild amount of caffeine.

I make my tea with milk and sugar, and it can relieve a migraine almost instantly. Things like icepacks help when it's so bad that you can't even open your eyes because of the bright lights.

I would not take the advice on others, esp not on who-what I was-am.

So really, if you are happy, then fuck the world.

Cos the truth is, majority of people would fuck you over given the chance.

So live your life and be happy.

peace
