It does seem the images published should have much more.....wow factor, for something NASA called the comet of the century. I'm like most people with very limited knowledge of astronomy but assume there is technology to constantly update presentations with the best possible demonstration for everyone to see every possible detail of what constitutes this event traveling towards us so we can understand what might transpire as it grows closer. That just seems reasonable to me, and to others here. I can't help but think we could have much more and much better detailed display of everything that could be known about ISON. Acts 3:21 |

And it still hasn't crossed the point where water ice starts significant outgassing. [link to www.space.com] "Comet ISON has the potential to be among the brightest comets of the last 50 years" In fact the light curve for ISON is currently well under initial projections, it's got a high chance of being an over-hyped dud. [link to www.aerith.net] [link to www.aerith.net] Red line = projection, black dots = observational data on its magnitude. Quoting: rsgThis is what dim comets look like, Hubble's image is quite frankly spectacular given the apparent size and magnitude. |

Also they should be able to see a grain of sand on the moon if they can see so far off in space, I would think. KINGDOMS, NATIONS AND KINGS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT DOWN TO THEIR KNEES WITH ONE GLANCE FROM A WOMAN. I WEAR MY SKIN OF ARMOR SO NO ONE CAN GET IN AND NO ONE CAN GET OUT. HOW CAN I MOURN YOU, WHEN I HAVE NEVER LET YOU GO, monster 1991-2008 RIP |

Quoting: MONSTER The angular size of the object is a more important factor in what the instruments can detect than the distance of the object. |

Quoting: MONSTER Take a nice detailed picture of a grain if sand in your backyard with a telescope. Should be simple right? Or does it prove that sand doesn't exist? Also galaxies are not moving as much in relationship to us, compared to a comet within the Solar system. That also makes a difference, much like taking a picture with a camera in low light and having shaky hands. |

Quoting: mhanthProve it. if they need to they can render the shit out of it. Quoting: mhanthSo you're suggesting my amateur images of ISON and the pinwheel galaxy are what? Fake? Is that really the road you want to go down, accusing amateur astronomers of faking their data? How about I hand you the raw fits data and demand you produce your own fits data of a comet and a galaxy that looks like mine but is in fact fake. not you, but NASA. duhh. No, this is Patrick! |
