Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes. That's one child every five seconds. In the time it takes to read this post, 6 or 7 children have died. Let's get our priorities straight :) If we have enough spare time on our hands to sit around and judge others for what they eat, then we have enough spare time to put food in the mouths of those who have none. |

I agree with the above. But, and here's the rub, growing meat unfortunately takes too many resources to be a good option on this oh so over populated planet. I've not eaten red meat for over 25 years..the reason?...slaughterhouses remind me too much of the death camps in nazi Germany. It would seem that humans have finally discovered that all life in sentient. ( well, duh!!) It would also seem that many of the people who work in these places enjoy their jobs a little too much. And how much of the meat you buy IS healthy? Probably not much once its been treate with sodium nitrite, carbon monoxide etc. If you want to eat this..be careful bout what you buy. |

What a waste of time and effort the last 3 years I have spent in the gym would have been, if I didn't eat animal protein. Our bodies are designed to digest animal protein - our stomachs create digestive enzymes specifically for meat. That's only one point for the argument against veganism. Did y'all know soy is a natural testosterone killer? And who said our teeth are designed for a vegetarian diet... what is the point of having these nice K9's of mine? I drastically reduced my meat consumption over the last year and a half and stopped buying it altogether about 5 months ago. I've only had it on a small handful of occasions since then. I still eat fish but rarely does that happen. I don't feel any different since removing it from my diet - no worse, no better. I have to say I still have cravings for meat. |

Quoting: artMan The people that aspire for higher states of awareness, will have more anxiety about worldly matters, and more prone to eat vegetarian. This^ Not to mention some other facts that really get in the way of pure vegan's utopia diet. The brain uses roughly 50% of the calories we consume. Of those calories, its REQUIRES! proteins and fatty acids only found in certain types of meat, namely fish. Fish and egg proteins keep the brain fed and healthy. Now gluten is another topic, that shit is fucking poison, at least the vegans have that much right. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 6655394 United States 07/01/2013 04:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Two questions: 1. If Humankind is not supposed to eat meat then Who taught us to do so? 2. Where in Humankind's entire history is a vegetarian race that has survived to the present day? Where is the race that shows generation after generation of vegetarianism? ~~~~ It's not about whether you choose to eat meat or wear fur/leather goods it's about how animals are treated. Far too often these two issues are lumped together; whilst encouraging an environment of misinformation and intolerance. Treating animals with kindness and respect should be paramount and part of what we stand for as Humans. Being grateful to ALL animals whose lives are sacrificed for our sustenance and comfort is something that should be practiced each and every day. And, all efforts must be made to ensure that their lives are void of fear and cruelty. - Do we probably consume more than is necessary? Yes. - Is the meat being sold in supermarkets today healthy? No. - Is the PTB behind the vegetarian movement to weaken society and further divide the masses? Probably. |
