A new mapping service could spell the end of the modern-day postcode.

The next time you get a phone call from a lost delivery driver or lose friends at a festival or in a crowd you can send them your precise location - with an accuracy of two metres - using a unique three-word code.

What3words has divided the entire globe into 57 trillion three-metre squared boxes and given each location point a code, or 'address' using three words from the English dictionary.
