Gov. Perry: Texas Will Not Expand Medicaid or Implement Health Benefit Exchange
"If anyone was in doubt, we in Texas have no intention to implement so-called state exchanges or to expand Medicaid under Obamacare," Gov. Perry said. "I will not be party to socializing healthcare and bankrupting my state in direct contradiction to our Constitution and our founding principles of limited government.

"I stand proudly with the growing chorus of governors who reject the Obamacare power grab. Neither a "state" exchange nor the expansion of Medicaid under this program would result in better "patient protection" or in more "affordable care." They would only make Texas a mere appendage of the federal government when it comes to health care."

I have been upset over Obamacare from the very beginning. I decided to check on what other states are doing and will update here as I get their information. Most states that are supporting the healthcare law say that they will have everything updated by August 1st.

One thing I can say is, with Perry not supporting Obamacare, Texans will pay more in health insurance and probably not be eligible for the tax credit. I checked the state website to see how much it would cost me for health insurance on their exchange. It was over $1300 a month with a $10,000 deductible. This is for 1 person, non-smoker in her early 60's. That's crazy. I need health insurance, but can't afford it, certainly not $1300 a month! I had already talked to a rep in Colorado who said my health insurance there will be around $300 a month, with a $2,000 deductible. Ouch...

I'm conflicted now about Obamacare, but I am thinking about moving out of Texas just so I can get insurance that I could afford.

another do

Lady, check out the facts on exactly what obomba care is giving
versus what you can get
and understand that obomba care IS NOT CHEAPER
and DOES NOT OFFER ANYTHING more than what's ALREADY OUT HERE.

leaving TX for that ain't gonna solve that problem either.
