A Spiritual Experience that Answered as Much as it Created New Sets of Questions | |

There are people who spend their entire lives trying to achieve this. To me, God is the collective conscience where all things are created. I think that Jesus was a real person but I am not convinced that he was the "son of God." We are all children of God and I think that Jesus was just a really spiritually evolved good man. I do think his teaching are golden though and I find it a shame that so many Christians don't follow them. |

I literally saw a light in the upper-left portion of my peripheral vision that I couldn't discover the source of. It remained for three days. Previous to this experience I was a die-hard Christian. Typical GOP member, etc. This put into question every single thing I'd ever learned in my lifetime. It was nothing like anything I'd ever been taught...and it confirmed things that seemed to contradict a lifetime of searching with actual answers. During that 3-day period I was in a state of mind where it seemed like I was "spiritually downloading" information and my life's purpose. Everything became very apparent whenever I would read a subject or really involve myself in anything. I saw life completely differently - managing to incorporate Buddhist beliefs into my life rather quickly, even though I'd only roughly scanned the subjects during my 30+ years. I instantly KNEW everything that was meaningful to me spiritually (and even tangibly). I saw the "game" of life...and that the majority of us were pawns to different paradigms - i.e. religious, political, and social. I believe it was Enlightenment...the Awakening... It wasn't anything I was searching out, but it was preceded by a tremendous life upheaval and change in everything from the top-down in my life. In February I felt this pressing desire to leave my job, my wife, and my home and pursue my destiny. Little did I know that it would lead to such a thing... And slowly, over the past 6 months, it's as if all of the things that I'd only dreamed about my entire life are suddenly coming to me without any effort whatsoever. It's almost as if I just waggle my finger a little bit and the spells cast themselves... Where it's been confusing is it has almost completely eliminated my need for anything beyond this experience. I'm in a position where I'm not sure about the existence of deity beyond a superconscious Creator...it has even put into question the idea of Jesus, which is, in some ways, hard to abandon...I'm not sure if/how that part of the "story" fits in any more. It always made sense to me previous to this, but now I'm wondering if this is just the goal of every living being - to abandon the things we WANT to be true, for the things that really are true. It's been this tidal wave of realization and perception. I've never felt closer, and yet farther, from KNOWING. Has anyone else ever had this happen? You're having a mid-life crisis. Satan has desired to sift you like wheat and God lets him. Buddhism teaches, that in the end, you are God and you will sit on a lotus flower for eternity and contemplate your wonderfulness, what a treat awaits you I was relating a personal experience, not talking about serving other people. If I told you more about the experience then you'd get it even better - the entire turnaround happened because of an act of charity on my part. I was a "lenient atheist" though, meaning I knew there was no such god as described in the bible, but in the back of my mind I knew there is more than what we see/feel. After that experience I don't know what I am, but it left me a much better person who connected again with family I thought I burnt too many bridges to turn back to. It was a very positive experience and I wish I could have another, if I knew how. It was like a moment of absolute peace, and answered things I never even knew I had questions to. OP, did you find a "inner voice" when going through this experience? |

For me, the first thoughts that indefinitely postponed suicide and started "the journey" were that if i was going to die, why not attempt to follow my wildest dreams as far as i could and if THEN i was still feeling hopeless - I could always end it later... next came the dreams about the Pyramids and the Sphynx and Yin/Yang - followed by reading tons of material about them... was "led" to meet my Wife... zecharia sitchin.. ..wiccan stuff, then came the alien info.. ..was i an alien?... ..walk-ins... dreams about 2nd sun, comets/asteroid impacts.... then came a synchronicity that led me to the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. Then came tons of synchronicity that led me to start playing guitar and realizing that my path was to play in a band with my wife that would change the world... then came synchronicities that started to make that happen... then came the rock and roll lifestyle that would derail me for a decade.. A lot of good and bad came from that phase. There is a lot i can fill in from the above phase, but the only real part of it was meeting my wife. That is what kept me sane through all the "learning" as I ultimately accepted or denied the info based on how it affected the real magic between us. If it made it stronger and better - it was correct. If it caused separation, it was not. I lost sight of this many times over the years, but returning to it has always been the answer. I'll share more of the second phase and maybe explain more of the first phase in a later post.. The universe is basically an animal. It grazes on the ordinary. It creates infinite idiots just to eat them. Bottom line is that most of the things you are feeling are just elaborate tricks your brain is playing in order to justify past and future selfish behavior. The more intelligent you are, the more complex it will be. You won't be able to explain it because no one else "gets it". That's a real sign that you don't get it. I know that's not what you want to hear. The trip seems so important, so real, and well.. more fun. Maybe the relationship you are in is not a good one and you need this change to be able to "reset". If instead you are avoiding responsibility for what you have caused.. then you are in for a ton of regret when the high wears off. I almost made that mistake when my second awakening came...
