Man, i feel so stuck in the rat race grind if living in the US. I just turned thirty this year, I always imagined myself by the time I reached this age, I would be long gone from my hometown. Lake Michigan is beautiful granted, I live in Grand Haven. Popular vacation spot for many people. But I need to get out and see the world man! Experience more than just this! Especially before I get to old. I love adventure, I have travelled some throughout my life. But never more than a couple weeks. I have found that traveling alone is my preferred style. It really seems like the only way you actually meet new people and it opens yourself up to experiences you often are to busy to take notice to when you are with a close friend. I mean, when you are with friends and family you actually never really leave home in a sense. No matter where you are. I am at a point in my life where I could just say "sell all my things and go!" Right now I could do this, but I feel held back. Hey OP, Want a cool temporary roommate there in Thailand? Haha, sounds fun |

Few things are more expensive in Thailand than in Malaysia eg air conditioners ( pronounced 'air' in Thai) is much more expensive . RC products like helis is more expensive . I know one Thai hobbyist bought his helis in Malaysia . Women are cheap of course , hahaha that is more important . Who need RC helis when they see pussies , hahha |

In the movie, UK actress Papillon Soo Soo, credited as "Da Nang Hooker" speaks the lines: Hey baby, you got girlfriend Vietnam? Me so horny. Me love you long time. Maybe she moved to Thailand? 6 months UK then 6 months USA. I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 45668127 Thailand 08/25/2013 01:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Almost all Thai food is not sweet, at least not in Thailand. Except for Thai desserts of course. There are a couple of curries that are slightly on the sweet side, but not what I would call sweet. My guess is that you have only eaten Thai food in the USA…where is it made sweet for the fat American taste. |

My guess is that you have only eaten Thai food in the USA…where is it made sweet for the fat American taste. That's also been my experience here in the US eating Thai food. It was really good though but yes a little sweet. It's sort of like Chinese food. There is an American version that is made for American taste. Actually, Chinese food in the US is a lot better than the oily, foul stuff you will get at local restaurants in Beijing. Most Thai restaurants in the USA serve an American version that is not like what you get in Thailand, and it is remarkably consistent across nearly every Thai restaurant in the USA. Many ingredients are deleted either because they are expensive to buy there, or they think that Americans won't like it. Thai food in the USA is MUCH sweeter than in Thailand. Dishes that are supposed to be spicy (and not all Thai dishes are) are usually less spicy and use the wrong chills, such as jalapeños which are never used in Thailand. In Seattle, I saw one dish that was very popular in every Thai restaurant there - called "Floating Rama", or steamed veggies covered in a peanut sauce. Funny thing is, it's not even Thai…it's Indonesian! (Gado-Gado). Menus at Thai restaurants in the USA are also monotonous - same thing in every restaurant, usually the easiest to prepare and what Thai people think Americans will like. Looks like you will need to get a ticket to Bangkok if you really want to experience real Thai food. |
