Wouldn't want to hear vocals over it... Guitar not wanky at all IMO which is awesome. Pretty nicely thought out melody. Sounds like something my friend would have written, he played guitar for The Famine |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37397433 You sure sound like him and that's a good thing Holy cow AC, what a compliment! One of the first bands I ever listened to that made me actually wanna play guitar was Queen, that and early Ozzy Osbourne (Randy Rhoads) so that definitely has made my night! Thank you so much! Excellent guitar technique and nice progressions but it doesn't add up to a song to me. The changes are interesting but don't transition smoothly either as parts or sonically. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26255514 It's difficult regardless to make guitar instrumentals sound 'fluent' tonally-speaking because so many people are used to vocals being the front-and-center aspect of a song, so it's something I've been trying to work on when it comes to my instrumentals, but thanks for letting me know, AC! Did Brian May change his name. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37397433 You sure sound like him and that's a good thing Lol. I heard it too, some Yngwie, mb Blackmore too. May would never play that fast even if he could. Haha, well Brian May has a different way of 'choosing' his notes when it comes to playing guitar -- it's almost as if he carefully processes musical perfection, which to him would NEVER be playing fast, only in certain situations, but I'm sure he could. Lol. I like the Ritchie Blackmore reference though -- in the verses I was going for more of a John Petrucci-like style of phrasing, maybe you could hear that as well :) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31489357 Sounds like something my friend would have written, he played guitar for The Famine Oh yea man, my programs definitely have their limits, I couldn't produce anything near the quality you'd hear on the radio, so this is about the best I can do! Lol. But thanks man, I really appreciate it! I really wanted the guitar to be in your face, not all hiding behind effects and whatnot, so I like that someone appreciates that. Cool man, I'll look em up, thanks AC! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45649156 Haha thanks man! Yeah, it would be killer to make some GLP bands and jam out every now and then, but we're cursed by distance. :( Nice Tangy, I appreciate it! Thanks! And I'll give some green in return for what you gave me. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38501639 Awe, well it's good to see you back then, maybe my song is growing on you a bit. Haha. That's a good thing in my book. Thanks again AC! Well if it isn't Mr. I-Used-To-Open-For-Pantera himself! Haha. Well thanks man, I appreciate it! |

(OP) User ID: 18435782 United States 08/26/2013 12:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Third listen was a bit more consoling even yet! You're really smokin' circa 3:15-40. That's not my favorite TD clip, but that's what youtube search is for...))) Ohhhh yeah, now seeing that video I see what you mean now. Lol. His phrasing patterns are similar and he sure loves that whammy bar like me! Haha. The link didn't give me spyware. Well I purposefully made it into an instrumental so I don't think vocals would work over my guitar leads. Lol. But I actually had very little effects over my guitar, but if you mean in the rhythm parts then I'd understand. And as for the harmonies, I was thinking on expanding that, but I thought if I added more, it might over-do it and the song would sound too messy. Lol. But thanks AC. |

(OP) User ID: 18435782 United States 08/26/2013 12:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good title to the song. You're a very talented fella. I think vocals would sound good with your style of playing.....you just haven't found the right voice yet. Did you lay all those tracks down by yourself or did others contribute? Quoting: aylarue Awe well thank you, character from my favorite game ever. ;) Yeah, I'm currently playing with a kickass singer right now, but it's more of a touring guitarist-like gig where I just play her songs and stfu. Lol. But I'm definitely looking for a good fit for a potential hard rock band I'd wanna make in the future. Hopefully it comes pretty soon. Lol! And no, I did em all by myself, I used a program called Guitar Pro 6 to write the drums, rhythm, bass, piano, etc. Then I just exported them to my editing program then laid down my guitar track. But as for the other tracks on my soundcloud they're all computerized Guitar Pro 6 ones. |

Well my all time favorite guitarist is Randy Rhoads, so the bands he was in inspired me at the very beginning. ( Ozzy Osbourne & Quiet Riot) But more recent inspiration would have to be Dream Theater, Megadeth, Van Halen, Animals as Leaders.. I can go on and on. Lol! But it all boils down to my favorite guitarists, Randy Rhoads, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai. |
