w.palmer united party
[link to palmerunited.com]
Palmer United Party stands for and is committed in its efforts and vision to carry out the following functions:
•Party Officials should not be Lobbyists, thereby taking a strong position on Paid Political Lobbyists, saving tax payers dollars and introducing Fair Policies
•Abolish the Carbon Tax
•Revising the current Australian Government’s Refugee Policy to ensure Australia is protected and refugees are given opportunities for a better future and lifestyle
•Creating Mineral Wealth to continuously contribute to the welfare of the Australian community. This will be achieved by utilising mineral resources from Queensland and Western Australia, and incentives from the Commonwealth of Australia to establish downstream processing in the States of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia; and exporting products at a higher dollar value, thereby creating more revenue, jobs, tax and more facilities.
•Establishing a System where people create wealth in various parts of the country and for that wealth to flow back to the Community that generates the wealth. For example, if a particular region creates wealth, a significant percentage of that wealth should go back to the region.

this is an important topic for me but they dont talk a good game.they say the want to ban jumps racing, but the entire racing industry needs to be looked at.greyhounds, standard and thoroughbred horses.im for racing, has been one of the greatest thrills of my life to rear and race dogs but too many dogs suffer and die.the animals are exploited and the entire industry is set up to fuel the gambling industry.more tracks, more meetings more revenue.grv in victoria is now 100% government run.

Exercising Oversight

In a parliamentary democracy, Parliament has three functions

1) To represent the people (the democratic function)

2) To design, guide and implement policy (the legislative function)

3) To scrutinise and oversee government practice, honesty and efficiency (the oversight function).

simple, constitutional, making sure government operates within its mandate which is a fundamental shift on the status quo.

absolutely true but if your enrolled to vote, you might as well make it hard for them to manipulate your vote...but yes, trying to sort through this shit is mind numbingly retarded and soul destroying.if there was at least a vote of no confidence, then it may serve a purpose.i think the key is,IF YOUR NOT ENROLLED,DONT.

The Policies

REGULATE AND TAX MARIJUANA

It is now commonly accepted that “The War on Drugs” has failed. Marijuana is an enormous cash crop with profits going directly into the pockets of organized crime. Regulation of the distribution of marijuana (like alcohol) will get it off the street. The revenue from taxing it plus the savings on the costs of enforcement and jails is worth many billions of dollars. Read More >>

LEGALISE VOLUNTARY EUTHANASIA

The right to choose to die with dignity should be a basic human right. Over 82% of Australians agree that voluntary euthanasia should be legalised. Read More >>

DECRIMINALISE PERSONAL DRUG USE

Many Australians would have experimented with an illicit drug sometime in their lives. This shouldn’t be a crime nor should the personal possession of small amounts of drugs. Portugal has had a very successful history with a policy of decriminalisation which we should emulate. Read More >>

SAME SEX MARRIAGE

It is about time that Australia catches up with the rest of the world and allows same sex marriage. Read More >>

CHURCHES TO PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAX

Church owned companies include some of the most well known brands in Australia including cereal manufacturers, insurance companies and publishers and yet they don’t pay income tax. A conservative estimate is that income tax exemptions alone to churches and religious organisations cost taxpayers nearly $ 20 billion a year. Add to that GST concessions, exemptions from capital gains tax (on property and share trading) and the Fringe Benefits Tax Exemption and the cost to tax payers is staggering. Read More >>

NO DATA RETENTION

We oppose the mandatory retention of all Australian users’ internet browsing history and emails by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for at-will inspection by law enforcement agencies, and support strong judicial oversight over the ability of law enforcement to access individuals’ internet and email data. Read More >>

ABORTION

There should be national pregnancy termination laws along the same lines as divorce law which allow for legal, no-fault and guilt-free processes for women seeking an abortion. We need to take urgent action to stop this continuing to be a political football. Read More >>

UNIFORM CENSORSHIP

What adults are allowed to watch and read in Canberra is different to Melbourne and what they can buy in Sydney is different to what they can buy in Queensland. We believe there should be a national approach to censorship with the establishment of sensible national classification scheme made for the 21st century. Read More >>

Internet Censorship
1.Overturn mandatory ISP filtering of the Internet and return Internet censorship to parents and individuals.

NATIONAL ANTI-DISCRIMINATION LAWS

It should be illegal to unfairly discriminate against people or companies on the basis of industry, job, occupation, profession or calling. Our policy is to enact national anti-discrimination laws which make it illegal to do so. Read More >>

A SECULAR EDUCATION SYSTEM

The public education system should be secular in nature and not provide for any religious instruction whatsoever. We oppose the chaplaincy program and believe that the public system should remain free of religious interference. Read More >>

im not a christian but i agree basically with the 10 commandments and the 7 deadly sins.although i prefer george carlins version.if they're the tenents of a political party,i have no problem with that.the spiritual side is up to individuals to decide but usually this kinda stuff just stirs up more division.

When faced with the prospect of a dismal outcome a lot of voters simply fold an unmarked ballot in half and place it in the box.

In 2010 that resulted in NEITHER major party winning. They had to bargain with the Independents.

Maybe the same thing will happen again.

The funny thing is, the Independents have ruled out making any deals this time around. They're not interested in working with the Libs or yhe ALP. And I can't blame them.

Gotta love a bit of chaos ;-)

Mark Latham did it on national television the night before the election and he's still a free man...

So I think the answer might be no.

ok so an unmarked ballot is effectively a vote of no confidence and the vote doesnt go to the winner by proxy?.

a hung parliment gives them a good excuse for doing fuck all but i dont think it matters either way.the fundamental manipulation stays the same.

unaffiliated independents.probably looking to stop a macca's being built somewhere.idk

and thats it,a complete waste of time, learned nothing about the australian political process,or about how to bypass it other than not enrolling to vote in the first place.
i followed u.s. politics since 2007 and understand their process.ours seems much more superficial and shallow.no firm political ideaology [other than neo liberal]or discussion.its really just a propaganda war between the two parties and seems like its just a charade.its a reflection of the lack of respect they have for us imho.

i will probably just vote for my jack russell chewbacca.he never lies and he'll do a better job than these fools.plus he can lick his own balls,so there VOTE 4 CHEWBACCA!!!
