Some will have enough oil (faith) to suffer death and be saved. Others will not have enough oil and will take the mark of the Beast. |

But they are told to go to buy oil for themselves...how can one buy faith? |

But they are told to go to buy oil for themselves...how can one buy faith? Revelation 3:18 Gives us the answer. Jesus is talking to the latter-day Lukewarm church - the Laodiceans which correlate with those "Christians in name only "who Are left behind because they aren't truly saved, hence, don't have the Holy Spirit. These are the foolish virgins who aren't truly saved... They're just "going thru the motions" so to speak. He tells them to buy it from him by being tested in the tribulation. Rev.3:18-19 "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness does not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, That thou may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." Last Edited by Morganite on 09/06/2013 11:12 PM morganite |

It seems to say that only those who are watching for and expecting the rapture and who aren't caught off guard will be taken. I hope I'm wrong and that's not what it means. What are your thoughts on this? morganite |

But they are told to go to buy oil for themselves...how can one buy faith? Matthew Henry: The wise answered, Not so; Note, 1. Those that would be saved, must have grace of their own. Though we have benefit by the communion of saints, and the faith and prayers of others may now redound to our advantage, yet our own sanctification is indispensably necessary to our own salvation. The just shall live by his faith. Every man shall give account of himself, and therefore let every man prove his own work; for he cannot get another to muster for him in that day. |

Be ready and stay in the light. If you break my wings, I will just find a cloud and learn to fly again. The Lord will catch you when you fall or teach you to fly! May the footprints I leave lead you to BELIEVE. |
