They have an active shopper gene that is similiar to the hunter gene in males.....shopping is hunting to females.....

Females are trained to manipulate their physical appearance to better their lives.

Once adept at doing so, it only becomes natural for them to manipulate and be manipulated by their environment in an effort to better their own lives as well.

I don't think they are manipulated as much as going with the one that tells them what they want to hear. They have very selective hearing and will easily discard anything that doesn't agree with their point of view and support whatever supports their POV. Then if it doesn't work they can blame it on the one who lied to them.

Women evolved to seek out security and safety for themselves and their kids, and that's what the adverts use as their hook.
Comfort means safety and security and that often leads to more kids, its what adverts promise women who prefer to be given something rather than earn it if given a choice.
