User ID: 45964369 United States 09/12/2013 01:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to Tampa Craigslist/ community and found a posting about a monthly Art and Soul Festival. Check that out, meet up with like-minded people. Lots of other interesting (creative minded) ads. Then I looked at jobs available in art/media/design and there were plenty. When you lose confidence, and fear creeps in to the inner sanctuary, you begin to subconsciously repulse opportunities. When within you are still, and you allow yourself to feel expansive, happy free and abundant regardless of your external seeming limitations, opportunities will present themselves like magic. It's like we are always chanting a mantra whether we are aware of it or not. Yours might be 'shit shit shit I need a job! Make a conscious mantra and chant it within- like 'Every day, in every way, I enjoy abundant creative work for abundant pay' ok that is corny but you get my point. -To put it in bumper sticker form- Tired of going without? Try going within. Last Edited by Janine69 on 09/12/2013 02:34 PM |

Thank you so much, Superduper. Good karma for you! I realize I've only been here a short time, but my desire to grab life by the tail is extraordinarily high right now...hence the utter discouragement lately. I want to make it happen! I know, without a doubt, that I was led here for more than just falling in love...a real creative energy has surrounded me for six months straight now (tomorrow is literally the six month anniversary of my Awakening). It all came together so beautifully and quickly that I guess I'm a little spoiled by it. I haven't even had the attention or calm enough to just let it happen, like it has been...I'm trying to force it. Maybe that's my problem. But watching her travail every morning when having to go to work while I'm at home mapping out ideas and searching, searching, searching is kind of wearing me down a bit. Light brought me here...and I've pushed the Light out momentarily while I'm clenching at the waves. -- EK |

No. This is about the 500th thread ive seen complaining about no jobs. About 90% of the time the person has already turned their nose up at multiple possibilities because they have some self righteous attitude like a preteen snot nose girl. The reason you cant find a job is because you are lazy and unwilling to work. The actual job should make no difference. Maybe you didn't see what I wrote earlier - I HAD A GREAT JOB THAT I LEFT BEFORE COMING HERE. I know there are "jobs", but I didn't come here to get a "job". I have enough money to get by and have paid ahead on mortgage/utilities and have the time, but I want to get something that isn't just flipping burgers next to you at the fry station. -- EK |

If that does not go anywhere why not go to some of the artsy or "Society" get-togethers and go from there. Or maybe get to know a variety of people that work at or run things from Museums, Nightclubs, National Parks or Bach Tower and perhaps they can help. Try asking on City Data or run a cheap ad in CL, the newspaper or Back Page for hints but do not give money. If you get to the end of your rope make a weird Youtube video asking for help. That seems to have worked for some but I would think twice about putting one on for future backfire/regret. I know some of these may not make sense but I wish you luck and wish I could help. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 41100276 United States 09/12/2013 01:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | IMO there are more opportunities and $ on the east coast IE from Miami to WPB or maybe Stewart. Boca used to have the highest per capita income in the nation. I hate a lot of the people down here and been here for 30+ years or so and self employed for 26 years, but there is a lot of work. Writer is an entirely different career that I know nothing about so... It is expensive depending on where you live but probably not that much more than Tampa in general. |

You may be able to write about events happening in Florida. Was going to suggest the local newspapers. I really am not familiar with your area of work enough to make ANY suggestions actually. The Tampa Tribune used to have gobs of ads in the classified in all areas of work. Also, contact companies directly that you know of/hear of. Lots of success found there. This area is very diversified and that's what I like about it. It didn't used to be racist that I discerned, however, things are a bit different now - thanks to the great agenda in DC. Again, I wish you well. Don't give up. It is normal to get discouraged but not to stay there is important - doesn't serve any good purpose in job hunting, relationships, etc. Stay positive.
