Strange aircraft in California

Last night I saw two strange aircraft, one with four light points in the shape of a square, going back and forth over the coast of central California. The second one was smaller and looked more like a regular aircraft, but was flying parallel to the larger one. They were moving incredibly slowly, much slower than normal jets or planes, and did not make much noise. They each had white lights plus one red blinking light.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Just trying to figure it out.
