The so-called Quiverfull families believe they are carrying out God's work, and providing a new generation of moral leaders. The BBC's religious affairs correspondent Robert Pigott went to Illinois to meet some of them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27811313 [link to news.bbc.co.uk] I once met the McDonald family and have known about them in a round-about way for over 12 years. They are a very nice bunch of people. If I could have picked a father other than my own wonderful Daddy, James McDonald would have been one of the very top names on my list! |

My parents both came from large families, and I grew up with a mass of aunts, uncles, great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, second cousins and even third cousins. Life was one big, fun family reunion when I was a child. So many of them are gone now, leaving the world a less friendly and less congenial place. My brother and I were always a little resentful that we did not have a house full of siblings to play with. Flowers to you for bringing this up, and stars and a bump for the thread. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. S. Elliot, Love Song of J. If you come from or know of a large, happy family, you think that a large family is a great idea, or at least a model for what can be possible. If you come from an unhappy situation, you automatically become a naysayer predicting multiple "problems" with such families. |

The children are well behaved, yes, but they are indoctrinated from birth, and not exposed to any other ways if thinking but their own. The eldest has just gone to DC to work with that hate group, focus on the family. Nice on the outside, yet think they are building gods army, literally, and do everything in their power to make sure those who they don't agree with are squashed politically. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45197753 Sound like little activists on the left, except for the well behaved part. People like that intern at that hate group Southern Law Povery Center. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. S. Elliot, Love Song of J.
