Unfortunately yes,most working farms that have been given to previously disadvantaged black farmers have failed.I think it stands at about 92% of failed farms,even with an attitude of reconciliation from white farmers trying to help the emerging black farmers,it is an extremely high rate of failure.
SA used to be a food exporter but now we have to import our food products.
It is an extremely hard job being a farmer,a twenty hour a day job relying on the weather factors,and having very good financial acumen.Tens of thousands of white farmers have already left to work in other african countries where they are being welcomed with open arms and have started very succesful farming ventures there.
Our government seems to be turning a blind eye to the eventual food crises,we.like the rest of the world seem to be heading for some serious social upheaval,but it seems that this is what the government of the day wants,either that,or they are just being short sighted and concentrating on filling their own pockets.
