I don't think there will be a crash, because I'm going with comet/space doom. They will do what they can to keep society from falling completely apart until the last moment when they head to the bunkers.

It will happen in the futures heading into the 24th. It will happen while we are all asleep at the wheel.

Here are some astrological aspects that are influencing this October events.
We have a lunar eclipse October 18th.

It's at 25º Aries. Everything with these rams is played at epic proportions. They really need to make love not war, but if they can’t make love then the war can get very monstrous indeed...

The fixed star Kurdah falls in the neck of the stern King Cepheus. “ It gives authority and a sober mind, sometimes making its natives judges or arbitrators, but exposes to cruel and severe trials.” Manilus gives an interesting interpretation of Cepheus. He regards the King as a tragic actor, whose pen is drenched in blood and the paper, his audience, “no less will revel in the spectacle of crime and catastrophe in human affairs.” So this moon is the voyeur at the road crash site. It is attracted to disasters. Dis-aster actually means “ill-starred”. This grim king is a our Saturn king of fate. Saturn Jupiter (Drama) qualities.

Lunar Eclipse Aspects

Uranus square Pluto is almost exact and we have Mars opposite Neptune, the Joan Of Arc aspect. This is important, as yet we again we have another fixed star duel going on with Mars opposite Neptune. The polarity of the archetypes couldn’t be more extreme. Its similar to the eclipse sun opposite Moon itself, the regal is opposing the artist. Here we have the physically robust, all conquering warrior of Mars. Robson gives this position “Honor, fame, strong character public prominence, high military command.” While opposite in the blue corner we find the fey and dreamy Neptune. It’s rather like pitting a rotweiller against Alice’s Cheshire cat.

It’s that kind of eclipse. The opposites have got so extreme that its as if the other is an alien. Finding the middle ground now is extremely hard, but it must be done if we are to survive. Mars on the other hand is the good old- fashioned, knight of old. It has blood. A little archaic and crude perhaps, but never the less, it’s easier to trust something tangible.


The Lunar eclipse is helped by some nice intellectual trines though and a useful learning triangle with Uranus square Pluto sextile the North Node. This connects us to the past and the future since the North node is moving towards Aprils Lunar eclipse point and Saturn is on the next Solar eclipse point. Both of these are in the crucifix, so spirituality and religion are still on the agenda. This is a very dramatic eclipse of opposites. It’s all about finding a balance and a much less extreme third way. Is a compromise possible or have the players becomes so distant that neither of them can even see a midpoint between them? It’s really asking for a massive stretch here.

Generally I think this eclipse may show us how reliant we have become on technology, maybe there needs to be a shift back to real life and meeting people face to face. That way, Neptune cannot Photoshop out the blemishes and you are forced to confront the project, person or situation, warts and all. The job of this eclipse is to dissolve the areas in your life that are being held together by mere gossamer.

There are many ways to look at this. At the same time what is going on is beyond rational.

A look at the stars.

Mercury is getting ready to go into retrograde. Moon is in Pisces conjunct Neptune. It's a deeply emotionally challenging time.
A lot of confusing feelings coming up from the past wanting to be reorganized and integrated.

Strong pulls in different directions. The planets are pointing towards introspection and resolution. There is an electricity in the air containing a great potential to move into a better future by understanding the crazy past, making corrections and going into the future consciously and with the right intentions, re-wiring and creating our future.

The universe in support of re-building our lives, letting go of what does not work any longer.

Other major influences:

Saturn in Scorpio

This new cycle signals a need to recognize that there are powers beyond your control, that things are not what they seem on the surface. Trying to stay in control and on top only sets you up for a fall. There is a need for the resources of others. Failure to recognize this and deal with it can stop you in your tracks.

Neptune in Pisces

Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?

Mercury is conjunct Saturn in Scorpio. This also describes Cardinal energy, so you can expect to feel pressure, hit walls, and run up against deadlines.

Jupiter promises opportunity.

Jupiter in exaltation is not going to bless the prejudiced, or the mean, the cruel, the elite…you get the idea.

Full moon Eclipse in Aries.

The dangers in this eclipse are connected to hitting out at others, bullying tactics and over-confidence that gets people into trouble. Black Moon Lilith (true position) in a square to the lunar eclipse will have no problem with loudly calling out those who dare to put a foot wrong.

With this eclipse being a South Node eclipse, it may be necessary to let go of previous ideas to allow for the growth of others.

Lunar eclipses have a way of bringing our emotions to the surface and if we are aware of this, we can observe to learn from this.

This Aries Full Moon may be a wild ride, so hold on tight!

If anything happens in October it will be a MINI crash at worst, though those things can be plenty damaging if you are in the market when they happen.

November is the more likely timing if anything is to happen this fall, even for a mini crash.

The most realistic trading position is that a budget deal will be reached avoiding default ... and the market soars to NEW HIGHS in the month of October!! (Dow and S&P)

Yep ... that doesn't fit the GLP "Doomers" mindset, but that is what the charts and long term momentum statistics tell me.

(but come Nov 2 +- 3 days, all bets for higher markets should be OFF the table since suddenly it turns into a high risk period)

But there is always a chance for the unpredictable and this time around with all the uncertainties going on may be a set up for an un-predicted slide in the markets.

My guess is that the first half of November will be very bearish.

“This has us pretty nervous; it’s just a mess,” said John E. Nixon, the budget director for the State of Michigan. “We are taking it very seriously, and we have our agencies preparing contingency plans. But obviously nobody really knows how it’s going to unfold, so you can only plan so much.”

“A lot of these folks are looking into ‘What kinds of options do we have if there is a cash crunch?’ ” Mr. Pattison said. “They are very, very nervous. It’s uncharted territory.”

Investors on Monday reacted in tandem with the real-time reports of halting progress, with stocks falling in the morning before drifting into positive territory by the end of the day in response to reports of a possible deal in the Senate. At the same time, asset managers and banks began taking steps to be ready if the Treasury Department is unable to pay back its short-term debt on time. In Britain, Jon Cunliffe, who will become deputy governor of the Bank of England next month, told members of Parliament that banks should be developing contingency plans to deal with an American default if one happens.

And Chinese leaders called on a “befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world.”

If a deal is not completed by the end of Thursday, Treasury officials have said, the United States government will have exhausted “extraordinary measures” for managing its debt, meaning that its ability to pay its bills will be limited to the uneven flow of cash that comes into the Treasury on a daily basis.

But even that deadline provides no real sense of clarity. It remains unknown how long the federal government could operate beyond that day, what programs it might choose to suspend, or how quickly the global financial markets would pronounce judgment.

George Goncalves, a Treasury strategist at Nomura Securities, said investors might not immediately panic if all signs were pointing toward a positive vote.

Staff members at the Treasury, Federal Reserve and Federal Reserve Bank of New York are working together behind the scenes to prepare, officials said.

Officials at the White House and the Treasury have said that contingency plans are in place, though they have repeatedly declined to provide details about which obligations would be met and which would be abandoned.

“We’re now backed into a corner,” said Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York. “We have to do this by Thursday. We have to make it work, but it’s not going to be perfect.”
