Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
Major milestone reached yesterday. For the first time at work, I left my cane at my desk completely when I took my break. And I came back the same way. No cane. I don't think anyone noticed yet. Oh, well.

This is fucking huge. :)

Also: it has been 23 days exactly since my cane last touched the ground. BOOM nasty.
 Quoting: CuriousSeeker

CuriousSeeker had left for the day,
Forgetting his cane, he went on his way,
He ran up the stairs,
He ran down the hall, shouting,

"Praise the good Lord I didn't fall !!!

That's okay Mattie, it happens. It's how you handle things now that matters. Jump right back on that wagon. You can do it my friend. : )

Exactly this. You've quit before, you can quit again if that's what you feel like you need to do. Falling off the wagon can provide great insight. Use it to learn about yourself vs. being upset with yourself. I think you have a lot to be proud of in this venture thus far. One step in a different direction at this time does not mean failure.

Hubby made it to Texas safe and sound. Looks like he may have jumped the gun and his brother was panicked. He may be coming back home tomorrow.

Poor thing, 13 hour drive each way.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Well, I guess the upside is that it's not as serious as they thought. Your hubby is a good guy for rushing there to help (but we already knew that).

On a separate note, I hope you're taking care of yourself and doing your best to keep stress at a minimum. Lots of love to ya WA.

We lucked out and had a freakish break in the heat/humidity here today. Was only 86 today and dry air. Almost too good of a breeze (made for a bad hair day, lol). Just a gorgeous day to be peach picking. Got a whole peck of peaches, blackberries, yellow and green zucchini, heirloom tomatoes, onions, peach salsa and peach preserves. Afterwards went to a brewery near the orchard. They were trying too hard to be German- the waiters had lederhosen and the females had whatever those busty German-lady outfits are called. They only sold beer by the liter and half-liter, and all the food was wursts and schnitzel. BUT they had a lovely patio and an oom pah pah band towards the latter part of the day, so that was fun. All in all, an excellent Saturday.

Hope you all have had a nice Saturday as well.

Ok, so it's not just me, they aren't being forthcoming with information. I recall the last article I saw really had no specifics, which I thought was weird. I can't blame them, it's a terrible situation. Very sad.

* Trifecta of Celestial Wonders * Eyes On The Skies *

In the evening of July 19th, let the moon introduce you to a very special star. The bright star to the west of the moon is none other than Spica, the sole 1st-magnitude star in the constellation Virgo the Maiden.

The much-brighter object to the east of the moon on July 19 is the giant planet Jupiter. Jupiter, the fifth planet outward from the sun, is in front of Virgo’s neighbor on the zodiac – the constellation Libra the Scales – and will remain in front of Libra until November 2018.
