awesome....me loves sax and flute....hope you have lots of fun.... Quoting: -Noahsdad- I love a strong, loud, tight horn section that's right in your face. Oh man, so good. I also love a flute! Not my favorite wind instrument, but it can get down with the best of 'em with the right player. There would be no Jethro Tull without a flute, that's for dang sure. I own a couple of JT albums (actual vinyl). Good with coffee on a Sunday morning. Quoting: KickinIt Another one with vinyl!! Hubby & I have close to 1,000 vinyl albums and 45's. Used to chill on Sunday morning listening to Don Williams, Johnny Rodriguez and Marty Robbins...and Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, and quite a few other groups! We just loved music! Quoting: justanothergranny Devinyl! I have a whole row of them along one wall in my bedroom :D Xx Quoting: MsMc Another one!!! Some good folks on this thread! Kindred spirits for sure MsMc! KickIn' s band reminds me of Sam & Dave or Jr Walker & the Allstars. Love some good funk sound! Takes me back to my younger days... TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |

Quoting: justanothergranny :peeweeomg: Wow granny, I'd love to sift through your album collection! I don't have nearly that many - probably around 300. I still purchase vinyl here and there, but the majority of it is from my youth. I feel like it's a time capsule of my life, and I'm forever thankful I had the sense to keep them. Quoting: KickinIt That's how I feel, too. I've thought about getting more - there's a store here in town that carries some. But we've got so much stuff around here that we just don't need to add to it. We had a fun night a while back - grandkids here & we started playing the vinyl. They had a great time and we got to share some old favorites with them. I do need to get rid of the cassettes - we used to record a lot of our own. But the little turntable we bought also plays cassettes, so I've hung on to them. Think I need some help on cleaning and purging.... TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |

He left this morning for Dallas by going through Phoenix - quickest way to get to Dallas. He landed almost 3 hours ago at DFW and still sitting on the tarmac because of lightning. It was possibly moving when he hung up, so hopefully soon.
At least his dad is hanging in there while waiting for his son and sister (who was delayed and sent to Oklahoma) as if he knows they are trying to get to him. Dr and hospice nurse don't expect him to make it till Monday and here my hubby sits on a plane instead of with his dad.
My brother headed from Houston to Dallas to go give emotional support to my hubby (they were best friends before hubby and I got married), about a 4 hour drive and he made it to the hospice place before hubby, which shouldn't have happened. LOL He was late leaving.
Oh well, enough about that.

I'm just gonna throw this out there. I have been feeling completely drained of energy and sick to my stomach most of the day today. Took me until late afternoon just to get myself out of the house to run some errands. Very much hangover-like, but I did not have a hangover. In fact, I only had 2 drinks last night. I also hadn't eaten much yesterday, so it wasn't food related. No sickness, just nausea from the moment I got up this morning. Flash back to last night- the latter part of the concert I had a fleeting moment of dizziness. Very brief, but I felt woozy like I might faint for about 2 seconds. I was fine after that and continue to be. I never even mentioned it to my friends. I don't think of myself as very sensitive, but I'm now wondering if all this is related to the earth movement tonight. I've been stumped as to why I would feel so nauseous today. I chalked it up to a rough week, stress, and perhaps not enough food (although I have eaten enough to sustain me, but I was stumped and looking for reasoning). Also interesting is that, after this entire day, I suddenly began feeling better only a few hours ago, which was maybe an hour after the big EQ. I actually ate a good dinner - the best meal I've had in a few days. I still feel fairly drained, though, but no more nausea. Sorry for the ramble but this all just hit me now. |
