I use a couple sites to monitor and there have been quakes listed on one and not the other every day. I've seen banners like others have mentioned and then neither site has it listed.....
I really noticed this trend after the tsunami warning last week. I do not think things are being reported from "official" sources as they should be.
I also have been noticing readings on solar activity seem to be missing. I was monitoring the solar wind since Saturday and during a period of some bigger quakes there was a section missing from all readings...bz, wind speed, etc. Just no data.... Did something happen to knock equipment offline or did someone censor it?
Quoting: dyin Nice catch! Some 'proof' here... [ link to www.swpc.noaa.gov (secure)] ETA screen shot [ link to imgur.com (secure)] Quoting: Simple27 Yes, nice catch. I think in some cases things are being censored, but not necessarily in all cases. I don't know why Mayotte quakes would be censored, but I feel like there's enough proof that's been happening, especially during the swarm back when Kilauea was erupting. |

Stage being set for MASSIVE blizzard on Christmas 2018 - "Snowmageddon" [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Quoting: Simple27 I'm in that mix! Deep purple area for Xmas eve, which he said is around an inch per hour! Which would sorta suck because that's the night I whoop it up with my peeps. Xmas day would be better for my schedule because I usually chill at home and have a few friends over in the evening. But heck, I would sorta love a big snowfall over xmas, so I'll take it even if I have to hunker down on Xmas eve! Quoting: KickinIt Me too! We get that deep purple on Christmas according to the video. Which makes sense with how my area often gets your weather a day (or so) after you. Quoting: Simple27 It's been a long time since we got a significant snow storm on Xmas here. I'm all for it. Trying not to get too excited though, because a lot can change between now and then. |

Here I was, going off to bed and really feeling like my world was pretty calm...then, from a dead sleep at 11 pm my time, I get the call from LifeAlert that my mom has fallen, is injured, and the EMTs are nearly there. So, we get dressed asap and head into town. Spent the night at the ER. She just face-planted. Didn't hit the fireplace, or the wooden arm of the sofa. Grazed the coffee table with her jaw. And her only serious injury is a broken arm. We are blessed that she's not seriously injured!!!! She's in the local rehab hospital for maybe another 10-12 days, learning how to cope and do things one-handed.
Damn, life can turn on a dime. But it could have been so much worse!!!!! I thank God daily for keeping her safe.
Quoting: justanothergranny Oh no, your poor mom! A broken arm is bad, but I agree, it could've been much worse. Thank goodness she has the LifeAlert! I hope she will take it easy and allow herself time to heal. Will there be anyone at home to help her once she's released? I would imagine she might need some help, especially at first. Sorry your stretch of calm got screwed up. Dang it, universe! |

Luckily he lives only 3 miles away so I wouldn't worry so much about travel....yikes ! For those folks who have any significant travel involved in their Christmas plans, I worry for them !!! Quoting: Arnie Yeah, that's the bad thing is that it will affect travel and many peoples' plans. Not on my end much, so that makes it easier for me to root for it. But I would feel bad for others. |

The US has shaking going on from coast to coast. Am wondering if we will see a big one somewhere again. Alaska got theirs, but am getting nervous about southern CA, the New Madrid, or even the fault in the northeast. Bummer for cold weather and holiday season and large population areas!!!
Also wonder, with the snowmageddon predicted, that's a lot of added weight over faults that are already moving. Anyone else think the odds aren't looking good???
Quoting: justanothergranny I can't help but worry about the New Madrid this time of year, when the anniversary of the big quakes there rolls around. And now with this other activity it's a tad more worrisome. Still gonna root for snow though, I can't help myself. |
