It sucked at the time, but I'm over it. I am having a glass of wine, but I am heading out in a while to get together w/some old high school friends. Don't have far to go, thankfully, and it'll be totally relaxed and casual. which is good since I have on a sweatshirt and baseball cap and don't feel like changing. Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated Tuesday, January 1, 2019 will be my 25th anniversary. We planned on getting rings, a replacement for his and an added anniversary band for me. We procrastinated. Yup, we are going tomorrow, if I am feeling up to it, to look and pick out rings.
He was 155 lbs at 6'1" when we married. I said he was borderline anorexia!!! He has gained about 65 or so pounds since then and they will have to cut the band off his finger, no way it will come off otherwise. When that is done, they still won't know what size his ring should be because of the divot his wedding band has left on his finger - rofl. He is a big bones man and wore a #11 1/2 25 years ago - not much telling how big it needs to be now. His right hand is #13 he thought they told him. He doesn't want it cut off because I had it engraved with our names and date on the inside and we have no idea where an empty place would be.
Me? I am still the same as long as I am not retaining water, size #5 3/4. It is amazing that I am for I have gained a small ton in 25 years. It all went to my butt lol
I didn't want him to get a new band but for the health of his finger, he really needs to. He wanted a new wedding set for me and I simply and firmly said NO! They are my bands and I won't take them off.
Quoting: WhiteAngel I think getting new rings for the occasion is a nice sentiment. It is too bad your hubs must have his cut off, but for god's sake, if that's the case then that thing needs to come off! His finger is probably going to feel good once it's free. I get claustrophobic just thinking of it, lol. 25 years is certainly something to celebrate and be proud of. Congrats! Quoting: KickinIt Thank you! I tried to get him to let me get the ring off years ago but he said it was fine. It is so tight they will have trouble cutting it off. |

Used to be you wouldn't catch me at home on a Friday or Saturday night, much less NYE. However, I'm also older than you so some of it is just slowing down in general.
The last 5 years or so I've gone out early - like 5 or 6, then was home by 9 or 10. I grew to like that system, it was sorta the best of both worlds. Last year went to a friend's, but the few years before that I met people at a neighborhood bar. Not crowded at all since we go so early (and since people tend to head out later on NYE). This year I'm leaning towards not going anywhere at all though. It's come to that, lol, I've tapered down to not leaving the house on NYE. So yeah, I will probably be here with you fine folks again this year, but this time probably for the whole evening.
Quoting: KickinIt That would make me so happy!! Quoting: Simple27 Never have gone out on NYE! Too dangerous. My alcoholic dad didn't even go out. Instead we fixed lots of snack foods, watched tv or played games and yawned in the New Year, lol |

Quoting: WhiteAngel That's a big anniversary! Congratulations my friend!!! Quoting: Simple27 Thank you hon. 25 years is hard to believe when I seriously wanted a divorce about 3 times the first year. After that, well, we figured it out and outside of a good screaming match once a year, we get along quite well. |
