Things aren't looking good with my sister's pregnancy. Doctor tested her hCG levels on Tuesday and they were 179. She was retested today and now they're 57.

I know this doesn't 100% mean she is miscarrying or will miscarry, but I think 95% is a fair estimate. Not many happy ending stories to be found about an hCG level that drops during the first trimester. However I have found a couple of stories where the level begins increasing again after a drop and the pregnancy went on and a healthy baby was born. Again, these stories are few and far between though. :\

If anyone does know of this miracle happening to themselves or someone you know, please let me know. I'm trying to keep my sister's hopes up for now. No ultrasound has been done (not even vaginally). This one drop in levels and her doctor told her to just go and wait for her period. Ugh! I personally find that irresponsible because even if there is only a 1% chance that she hasn't/won't miscarry, they should confirm that with an ultrasound. They said if she doesn't start her period in 10 days to go back to recheck the levels.

To convince a young woman that she has had a failed pregnancy without an ultrasound can devastate the young lady. And to have her believe that she isn't pregnant will likely lead to her drinking within the next 10 days which could ultimately CAUSE a miscarriage if she wasn't going to have one! I told my sister to continue treating her body as though she is pregnant. No drinking or anything else that could harm the baby just in case. Not even her doctor said that. Wtf?!

Hey Granny! hi That sounds like a lot of stressful stuff you've been dealing with. Thank god your sister is going to be ok - that is very scary. I hope her son will be ok too. Sounds like your grandson is doing well and working hard! That's really wonderful to hear. Hang in there, things have to take a turn and get less stressful for you!

Hi KickinIt! Feels like it's been one thing after the other. But yes, grandson is doing pretty good, which is an answer to prayer!! The family health problems are serious but everyone's getting better! Only real downside is that one of my nephews, also a drug user trying to get better, and who just got out of jail, lost his wife to an overdose. They have a beautiful 2 yr old girl. The grandparents have custody of her. So sad!

If no one's told you lately, thank you for all you do on here! You and MoN really give time and effort to keep everything going while Sim is away. And you are a wonderful encourager! Hugs to you! hf

Thanks for your nice comments Granny. Sorry to hear about your nephew's wife. I hope he can overcome his own addiction, his daughter needs him! I'm so happy for your grandson though, fingers crossed he stays on this path!

We have entered fast solar wind from the negative-polarity coronal holes, and the conditions are favorable for a #solarstorm. However, it would be G1 (Kp=5), rather than Kp=7, although regional stronger disturbances are possible. @Blackprojects @ADphotography24 @chunder10

Oh no, I hope she doesn't miscarry. I'm not familiar with this or what the levels should be since I didn't have kids. But IMO there's always hope until it happens. That doctor is a jackass for handling it in the manner he did, and if this pregnancy does continue, she should look for another doctor. To tell her to go wait for her period completely lacks empathy and is inexcusable for someone in his profession.

Hoping for the best, I know another baby will be so loved by all of your family.

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
Hello everyone! Feels like I've been away forever! I've spent several hours a day for the past 3 days just reading & catching up on this thread. As I told someone recently, different number year, same old BS!

My 87 year old mom fell in December and broke her arm. Luckily, that was her only injury and she is finally regaining her mobility and confidence. But dealing with that pretty much squashed most of December.

On New Years Eve, at about 3 am, I had angry words with grandson over something stupid, then at 4 am sheriff's deputies rousted us from the house (it was cold standing outside in my pj's). Seems grandson's friend from 2 doors down had spent the evening breaking into houses and even into a deputy's canine unit vehicle while the officer was gone from home. When the officer got back, he just turned the dog loose and it went straight to the kid's house! Stupid doesn't quite describe it!! Anyway, they wanted to be sure grandson hadn't been helping...but he worked 12 hours the previous night then spent the day at the hospital with another friend, and had gone to sleep at home very early. Thank goodness!

I spent over 2 weeks keeping the great-granddaughter, Sadie. I love to keep her, but my normal schedule goes out the window when I have her. Then, on the 22nd, my nephew was having major surgery to remove part of his intestine that tested precancerous. Early that same morning, his mom - my sister - went to the ER with severe abdominal pain. We were thinking an intestinal blockage. What they found was a seriously bad abdominal aortic aneurysm - 1.5 inches long! Had it burst, she would have died before she could have called 9-1-1! Needless to say, emergency surgery. She's a widow, so I ended up spending 12 hours a day at the hospital with her, for a week. She and her son are both doing well, thank God!

December and January were kind of stressful, but I'm trying to focus on the fact that all the outcomes were good. Just nothing has been done that we were intending to get done. I've lost track of what day it is...

I'm sorry to hear about the job issues you and CS and MoN face, Sim! I can honestly say I'm glad I quit my job when I did! Don't think I could have handled the crap from that job along with everything else that's happened! I will be praying that all of you find better places to work!! Life is too short to spend so much of your time and energy at places that cause such stress and unhappiness!

I also hate to hear about the health issues Nef is having, Sim! Didn't see any recent updates, but have been praying for you guys! Stay strong...you will need to depend on each other for whatever needs to be done!

I'm glad that most of you are doing well...don't see ISIS around much, and a couple of others. But getting back on here has really helped my sanity.

And regarding the EQ's...I'm really concerned about the number and frequency of all the swarms, but especially about the Azores. Lots going on! Thanks for the posts and for keeping us all updated! (Hugs to you, KickinIt!)

Hi WA! Hope you are feeling better! I've been off GLP for a bit, then spent 3 days catching up!!

To answer your question, yes! Don't even know why...just have this nagging feeling that something is going to happen, and I went so far as to start a shopping list. Can't explain the feeling or where it came from.

I used to be a serious prepper, but haven't done anything for over 2 years But I feel an urgency to start re-stocking all the supplies I've been using. Almost worrisome that someone else is feeling it...
 Quoting: justanothergranny

I am on another forum also and I asked this same question. It is more worrisome than you thought, there are a bunch of us feeling this need to prepare, across all parts of USA, Canada, Britain. No other place chiming in yet.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

I am feeling it!

Guess I'd better get my mind in gear and work on my focus. I've mostly been just putting one foot in front of the other for the past several weeks. More action, not reaction!

Considering what you have been going through, being able to focus on something productive might help the sanity in your stressful situation!!! God bless you!!!
