My wife has been sick with the flu, so took her to the rural hospital where she worked for years, and her heart rate was 188 bpm!!! They ended up taking her to the regional hospital by ambulance, and giving her potassium through her IV. By the time I came home and packed her a bag, and fed all the pets, then headed for town, when I got there, her rate was a stable low 80's! She could have had a darn heart attack if we hadn't gone in!!! Scary deal. She is still in the hospital, getting more tests done today, and they are working on getting her blood pressure down, as it is still very high! And of course, it is snowing and 10 below aero here! It was 53 when I was taking her to town yesterday, then we hit the cold front while driving and the temp dropped to 23. It was 7 above when I got home last night!

Oh no! The flu is nothing to mess with. Thank god you took her in. Glad she's somewhere she can be monitored. Hoping she's stabilized soon! Keep us updated.

Will do! They said it's not the flu, but she is still very nauseous. We'll see what's going on. Just getting ready to leave!

I was sick with the worst flu I have ever had. Just getting over it. Had a temp of 104 for days, then I got strep throat.
Now I am recovering, still too weak to stand up for long.

never had it this bad
should have gone to the hospital for sure, but I would have waited there longer than anything
at least at home I could rest
the only thing keeping me going during the temps was the coconut water I was drinking
otherwise I would dehydrated and ended up worse off
4 week flu going on week 5

Damn, the flu and strep - that's quite a double whammy. I'm glad you're on the mend. I've had the flu 2x in my life and both times I felt like, and wanted to die. 4 weeks+ is definitely longer than normal, but the flu is powerful and will linger. Keep taking care of yourself, hope you're back to normal soon.
