Astronomers spot coronal mass ejection on distant star

June 3 (UPI) -- Scientists have for the first time observed a coronal mass ejection, CME, on the surface of a distant star.

Until now, astronomers had only observed coronal mass ejections emanating from our own sun, but data collected by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory revealed a powerful eruption exploding from the surface of HR 9024, a distant star.

While surveying Chandra data, astronomers identified an explosion of X-rays followed by a large burst of plasma.

Great news!

My oldest is still pissing around with his. He had a little accident when he was on his permit and I think it took the will to drive out of him. lol

I imagine it will continue to get more and more physical. Competition. It gets rough as we all know. I hope they all stay safe (no major injuries)!

A guy got a puck in the face, two different guys got hit in the face with the hockey sticks, and people were constantly getting crushed into the boards! It's worse than football!!!!
 Quoting: bigD111

I know, right?!? It's like freaking rugby out there! The guy who got a puck to the face might be hurt pretty badly. They were talking about it on the radio on my way to work, and at the time it was all speculation, but they thought he might have a significant injury. I haven't heard an update since.

Hockey is a rough game to begin with, but by the time they get all this way to the finals after a long season, I guess they have no option but go balls to the wall and give it everything they have. And you can tell by watching, too. Very physical and my god, everything is going so incredibly fast just the pace of it stresses me out! I would not be at all surprised to see this series go to 7 games.

Man, that had to hurt. Guy took it like a champ though. I'm sure he wanted to get back on the ice but the doctors wouldn't let him. Every time the camera panned to him on the bench he wasn't talking. His jaw is probably completely broken. I bet he'll be playing next game, tough bastards.
 Quoting: Master of Nothing

That was one of the speculations I heard - that he broke his jaw. Also something about his ear, because I guess it grazed that. I really hope he didn't break his jaw. that's a horrible injury to recover from, and often it doesn't heal 100% right.

They broadcast the Stanley Cup live here in the Netherlands as well on Fox Sports. I watched the replay this morning, without knowing the outcome.) Great game Blues!

I used to watch the World Cup hockey all the time back when it was broadcast on the open net or a sports channel, but they hardly give coverage of it anymore these days.

At least another two games coming up. And as much as I like Baaastun, this one is for Kickin'

GO BLUES!

 Quoting: InterMezzo

That's cool you got to watch! I'm very surprised they show it over there. Everyone is super pumped up here. Fireworks were set off in my neighborhood after last night's game. I can only imagine if we win the cup how insane it will be here. This is foreign territory for us - we are so used to the Blues blowing it, we won't know how to act if we win this thing.
