This is the same as the 6.8. It was downgraded. Not sure what it listed as initially, but I saw a 7.5 somewhere, maybe Twitter. Not sure which agency initially reported that.

Couple of not-so-great health updates here. Nef's insurance wouldn't cover his scan this week. The ball was dropped and his doctors office never sent an authorization when they received the insurance denial. Big mess. So now we're waiting to hear back from them with a new appointment date.

Me, I saw the rheumatologist yesterday for a follow up. He is going to be treating me for fibromyalgia (my mom has this, although you'd never know it) and Raynaud's Syndrome. Idk. I'm not a huge fan of being put on these new medications. I worry about the side effects as I am physically sensitive to just about everything. We'll see though. Maybe they'll help.
 Quoting: Simple27

I hate to hear that about Nef, but I can't say I'm surprised. Why are we paying so much for health insurance??? Nothing is ever covered. SCAM.

So are you saying the Dr. diagnosed you with these, or is he trying to rule them out? This is the first I recall hearing of either of them. I don't know a ton about either, but I don't see how this would relate to your blood issues. I mean, I know Raynaud's had to do with blood flow, but you have those occasional abnormal blood counts and the blood drains and all that, and that doesn't seem connected.
 Quoting: KickinIt

Nef's doctor is hopeful that they'll be able to get him in for the scan sometime next month, which isn't too bad. Insurance is a total scam. Ugh. But he's doing really well still. : )

I've had the Raynaud's diagnosis for years now. Secondary, not primary (meaning something else is causing it). The cause has never been determined, but many things have been ruled out over the years. The focus was always more on my blood levels so I've mostly dealt with hematologists over the years, but the one from Boston recommended I see a rheumatologist back in 2016...which I never bothered with because like you said, I didn't see how the blood levels could be involved and the blood levels were more important to me than the Raynaud's.

Back in Feb/March my primary doctor did some blood work to check for autoimmune diseases again and I tested positive (antinuclear antibodies test). She referred me to this rheumatologist who I first saw a few months ago. He did a bunch of blood work and asked a lot of questions. I had my follow up appointment with him on Wednesday and that's when he said he's going to be treating me for fybromyalgia and prescribed a couple of medications. He didn't use the word diagnosis when we were talking, although I think he would have to diagnose it in order to prescribe me the meds that he did, for my insurance to cover them. 1dunno1 But no, like you said, I don't think my ongoing blood level issues have anything to do with this. That's a separate mystery problem. This new doctor is looking at tests I haven't had done before.

Time to step up my natural remedies again! I'm gonna give the meds a chance and take them for at least a week to see if I notice any difference in anything physically. I'll continue taking them if they actually help.

Sorry, catching up here. I see now they are not related. I am really surprised they haven't figured out this blood issue by now. It seems so unusual to me I would think they would've pinpointed the problem by now.
 Quoting: KickinIt

No kidding. I'm pretty sure they did, but just can't officially diagnose it because I don't have a certain gene mutation that is now one of the diagnostic criteria per WHO. Three different hematologists all thought and evaluated me for polycythemia vera, and all three approved of the phlebotomies whenever my levels got too high. Looking at my medical records, you would think I was diagnosed with it, as it appears that way.

I don't think any one thing is behind everything going on.

Simple, have you gone completely gluten-free? I recall some months ago you said you were on a gluten-free diet.
Gluten (actually what's in the flour / corn products which is glyphosate,,,RoundUp herbicide on ALL of our freaking food), causes autoimmune conditions, including fibromyalgia, and is also connected to Raynaud's syndrome, and also you have intestinal problems, also caused by the gluten in products.
here's just one of the articles about the connection between Raynaud's and gluten,,,

I did go gluten-free for a bit when I was doing the Paleo diet (and felt great!). Then we went on vacation with my family to Florida and ate like crap the whole time. Never fully got back into it and lately I just haven't been feeling quite right. Likely because we're both so busy with work this time of year and end up taking the quickest/easiest route for dinners all week. My body's definitely pissed off so I've actually just recently started to eliminate gluten again. I really need to stick with it this time. No excuses now that I know it helps.

It takes about 6 months to begin to get the toxins out,,
some effects are felt fairly soon after going gluten-free.
This is basically the best thing I ever did for my health,,,
Watch the corn also it is loaded both in the plant / on the plant, and in the soil....with glyphosate.
Kinda' hard to do it all, but eventually you get used to it.
Costco has a 3-pack of gluten free pizza; just has a thin layer of sauce and cheese,,,so I load it up with my own stuff........pretty good !
Also,if you can,,,go totally organic for your produce and other things...

All I know is what changed in my life when the very first symptoms of Raynaud's appeared and when I had my first high hemoglobin test result. Both were around the same time, end of 2014/beginning of 2015. Which was when I started to not feel well.

1. The building that we worked in at that time (end of 2014) had just had some big, industrial size washers and dryers and some other laundry equipment installed which were all just on the other side of the wall from the very small office that we sat in. There was also a large dish pit area within that laundry area. Lots of steam and chemicals being breathed in all day in that tiny office with no ventilation/air flow. I had been working in that office for years without a problem prior to those machines being installed. Problems started after the new chemicals were added to the air.

2. I was on a very strong medication for 3 months beginning in Feb/March of 2015. Haven't been the same since and that's when things escalated to a crippling point.

2015 and 2016 were awful physically. Daily. I've never been through anything quite like it and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Things started to improve in 2017 thankfully. And I've adapted from there. :\

Sorry, catching up here. I see now they are not related. I am really surprised they haven't figured out this blood issue by now. It seems so unusual to me I would think they would've pinpointed the problem by now.

Sorry! I'm just catching up.

Considering exactly what happened, I'm surprised that chemical toxicity was not ordered as a potential diagnosis paradigm.

That would be the first thing I would check.

I would check make/model/year/manufacturer of those machines if you have that information and see if any lawsuits have been filed against the manufacturer.
