If fluids have pooled close to the basin’s surface, hydrothermal explosions may be slightly more likely to occur. But the rocky plumbing networks are remarkably complex, Dzurisin says, with small, undetectable changes constantly increasing and decreasing the chances of a blast. The possibility of more explosions remains highly speculative, so the team does not recommend closing off the region to visitors.

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73473142 i have had 5.5 the other day ,2 km from my house... adrenaline shock.... went to sleep at 3:30 am, that was at 6:20 am.... it took down a chimney from the roof, 2,5 meters from where i slept... it he felt down toward me, he would probably felt on me, directly.... it moved whole city 2 cm... Quoting: 7..X.LePsihoLog EMSC doesn't seem to be reporting most of the aftershocks there. I often am posting quakes and I see a banner at the top saying a quake was just felt in Croatia, but then no quake is ever posted. Makes me wonder what's going on over there. Have you felt a lot of aftershocks? |

Yes, it's not far from Boise, which is the capital. About 75 miles away.
Quoting: KickinIt How many people lives in the capital and in your city ? Are you know if are there damages ? I'm waiting Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78714322 You probably found out on your own, but it doesn't appear there was any major damage. My guess, although I haven't seen it, is damage in the form of cracks in walls of homes as they shifted, maybe fallen facades. The epicenter was close to Boise but the terrain in that region must've helped the situation. If that size quake took place where I live in the midwest we would have bad damage. But the land is totally different here. |

Quoting: Luisport Quoting: Luisport NNNNNOOOOOO! Dammit, this is such a loss to the jazz community Wallace Roney's trumpet solo on "Move" - RIP Wallace RoneyFrom Gerry Mulligan's "Rebirth Of The Cool" sessions. Although I didn't transcribe this solo, I felt it was necessary to mention it. It's one of my very favorites of Wallace's solos. It's the epitome of his uncanny ability to sound exactly like Miles and yet do his own thing at once. Not late Miles, though. Young Miles that ran with Bird and Dizzy. Every little crack and sidestep. Miles. It's all there. Rest In Paradise (with Geri), Brother Wallace.
