Thank you for the recommendation, John. We have been doing delivery since we started our own lockdown in early March with multiple outlets...Amazon, Costco, Instacart. We are fairly well-stocked on some essentials. We don't have to worry about water or TP.
But, every single place is out of paper towels, hand sanitizer, alcohol, etc. So it doesn't help us much there.
I get the tp. But why the paper towels too when most people have never bought them before? Are people afraid they won't be able to wash their hands with their own regular towels for some reason?
Quoting: CuriousSeeker2999 It's because entire families are home all day long, whereas normally they wouldn't be. Some also use them to clean, which is being done more than usual also. Quoting: KickinIt Exactly right ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.2 Peru*5.1 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20372 I went to the Costco in Bakersfield Friday morning first thing and they had at least 10 palates of TP and lots of water. I went in for a prime rib roast like they make packaged this time of year but they didn't make them this year. So I got the next best thing a rib eye roast. It is in the oven now. Should be done in about 4 hours. It was strange to be in the store and very few people inside but a line outside. Good thing that I got there about an hour early. I should have gone Thursday which was senior day and they open I think at 8am. Oh well next time.
Quoting: joinca That sounds delicious. I'm making guisado verde, which is a slow cooked pork in tomatillo sauce. Just browned the meat and the onion/garlic and got it all in the crockpot. My whole house smells like garlic now. Quoting: KickinIt I freaking LOVE garlic! And I bet your house smells amazing! I actually just finished peeling some garlic so I can roast it to spread on the dinner rolls. We eat late here. Schedule is all messed up in this house. If this was a normal year, Easter dinner would've been long finished and eaten at like 1:00/2:00pm at my mom's. I'm sad that I can't see my family today. :( ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

We in the Angel house have all wondered if Miss Angel and myself had it in mid-January.
Quoting: WhiteAngel I think it's been going around for a while. I recall a number of threads back around the holidays when people were posting about a horrid "cold" with a really bad cough that they just couldn't shake and it really wiped em out for at least 2 weeks, many for longer. I remember people in my town saying that as well, and one person in particular at my work had it. Quoting: KickinIt That was us but with the aches and pains of the flu Here is the biggie, neither of us could taste our food right or it tasted wrong. Everyone was complaining about the litter box stinking and I couldn't smell it - even though my nose was clear - usually I am the first to know when one of the kitties passed a bomb! Quoting: WhiteAngel Oh, that's very interesting you lost your sense of smell/taste. I assume that came back? I think the aches and pains can come with Covid for some, but the smell/taste loss is not something that comes with a regular flu (unless you're totally stuffed up, of course). If we assume this was going around as early as December, the question is why it didn't spread like wildfire then as it is now, especially with many getting together in groups for Xmas, new years, etc. Quoting: KickinIt Yes it all came back, should have said that. I think it was spreading like wildfire and then it mutated again, and again. Who knows. It is good that we have the stay-at-home order but there is a point we have to open it all back up. What that will look like, God only knows. |
